About Me
For Fun: They say ‘the best things in life are free’ and I do enjoy long walks in the fresh country air and sunshine. Music plays a major role in my life either performing or listening to it. I’m not much of a TV watcher as I’m usually far to busy and probably pay my TV licence for Top Gear alone! However I do like a good movie: sci-fi, action and adventure! I also love cars (don’t all men?) and so attend car shows and races here and there.
Favourite Hot Spots: I’m not really a regular anywhere but I do like good honest food in a traditional pub (none of this swanky town nonsense). I am more of an early bird than a night owl, but I still enjoy evenings out dinning and socialising with family and friends. I’m not really a big holiday person as I can’t stand all the hanging around at airports etc. When I do go away I like to tour, sample the cuisine and really get a feel for a place, the culture and its people.
Favourite Things: I love the outdoors, temperature doesn’t really bother me as long as its fine and dry although on cold dark winter evenings I’d choose to stay in the warm every time! I love my home, even though it is renovation project (hence the need for a distraction). Most of the big stuff is done now leaving just cosmetics and soft furnishings (I’d value a woman’s touch!) My claim to Fame is that Anita Harris was born in my house and that it appeared on national TV for her ‘This is Your Life’ program. If you don’t know who she is, don’t worry because neither did I…………. Google it!
Last Read: I’m not much of a book worm, in my view actions speak louder than words! However I did receive a copy of Richard Hammonds Autobiography for Xmas and am enjoying reading that (The ‘Top Gear’ gang are my heroes after all). Other than this, catalogues, instructions and DIY manuals are the only literature I bother with; I’m definitely a ‘hands on’ type of guy!
About my Life & What I’m Looking For: I am reasonably shy which I regularly conceal by joking and chatting in a social climate. I have quite traditional values and so consider myself a gentleman and respectful to women. But I am also a modern man, as living alone, I am well accustomed to domestic chores. I take diet and exercise fairly seriously, although I am definitely not fanatical (my body is not necessarily a temple); having said that I do not drink or smoke.
Although I work in IT I am not a nerd, I use computers in my job and that’s where it ends; I am actually more of a technophobe, perhaps I’m in the wrong job! Gadgets and magazines are definitely for the geeks of this world in my opinion. I am not terribly materialistic and am very careful with money but when on a shopping spree, I always buy quality. I consider myself to be an easy going, sensitive male and very down to earth. I have a fairly close relationship with my family and spend time with them regularly.
People often compare me to Steve Merchant (Extra’s, The Office) which I quite like because he is a very funny guy! On the other hand I have also been compared to Beaker form the Muppets (no comment)! Luckily I don’t take myself that seriously as I have learnt that life is far too short.
Ideally I am looking for a like minded girl who is able to enjoy the simple things in life. A girl who is feminine but isn’t afraid to ‘muck in’ or work up a sweat when required!
