I am, for the most part (98% of the time), an optimist which I would attribute to the fact that God is very much at the center of my life. I have respect and acceptance for people that have different lifestyles, religious beliefs, etc. and I have a hard time being around those who can't accept people that are different from themselves.
I like to travel and experience new places and cultures; that includes the MANY cultures within the US. I've lived in many parts of the United States and find it amazing how different and unique each is. I don't like the cold but enjoy the sunshine and warmth that Texas has to offer. I have explored the UK and would love to return to Scotland and Ireland without being connected to a tour group. I do love the creature comforts that home has to offer and prefer to travel that way too. I'm not a great outdoors person and camping is definitely not my thing, however, I do appreciate the beauty of God's creations. Well, maybe not spiders!
Technology can be this awesome tool in my life and then it can absolutely make me crazy! I use a computer at work all the time and as long as I am completing a task within my comfort zone, I'm great. But outside of that, I'm pretty technologically challenged!! This of course includes televisions, DVD players, VCRs, cell phones and occasionally microwave ovens.
Personal attributes... I am honest, well adjusted, patient, funny, kind and compassionate; these are some of the traits that make me a good parent and teacher AND that I am searching for in a partner... I am on the shy/reserved side, at least until I become more familiar and comfortable in a situation. I would like to be with someone that is more outgoing to balance that out... I love to laugh and love to be around people that make me laugh. A sense of humor is vital! I have a calm demeanor but am by no means boring. I am also very resilient. I have NO sense of direction when it comes to navigating unfamiliar areas, which is also something that needs to be balanced out! I'm a grounded, emotionally and financially stable person, also looking for the like. I like to experience new people and adventures but not in the extreme as security and comfort are very important to me.
As stated above, honesty, sense of humor, kindness, compassion and respecting others are personality traits that are important in someone that I want to get to know and possibly spend time with. Being dedicated to your family and their needs is also significant. Being emotionally mature, stable, responsible, hard working are right up there too! Someone that is good at household repairs and yard maintenance would be a bonus ;) I know, that may sound a little shallow but you know... that whole balancing out thing!

I am open to new possibilities and experiences but prefer our first date to be a first meeting instead and to be somewhat casual and in a public place during daylight hours...
