(Just to summarize, since I don't seem to have gotten these things across in my profile. I am: SINGLE, MONOGAMOUS, NON-VIOLENT; good-looking (did I say meek and humble??..lol); intelligent; educated; very worldly-knowledgeable; very empathetic and caring; youthful looking; somewhat big and tall build (no, not really 'fat' or 'obese', but I do get angry at superficial people hung up on looks; prefer passing an evening with a drink and a friend (or lover), rather then going to some football game; despise greed, selfishness, and rudeness; am in it for the long run..)
Okay..here we go. :) What I try to offer is genuine and a labour of friendship, and then maybe, love. Me, I am a strong, happy, and very nice guy (who doesn’t always have to finish last.) I am deeply romantic. I am not..I repeat…am not looking for a “fling”, friends with benefits, etc. I am trying to shape up better just for my own health, and am happy with the pace. I do this by exercising, very long walks, biking, and by trying to watch what I eat. I believe that coming into my 40`s, I have an obligation to family and friends to keep healthy. I have always been, and will always be, monogamous. I see women complaining that most men on here are looking for "flings" and such, so here is a GUY WHO IS NOT. :) I am NOT the POSSESSIVE type..and I always view a relationship as a democracy. I am a responsible, passionate, caring guy who can admit he was wrong. I have my $*it together, and a very deep, deep well of love, friendship and understanding.)
I am intelligent, and enjoy long, deep, thought-provoking discussions about everything/anything. Life and love, to me, are very precious gifts, and as we are only around for so long, I yearn to connect. I believe most of the secrets to life are hidden in the great works of everything from fine literature, art, to amazing music. I consider myself a life-long student. Discussing poetry and meanings of songs, or just cuddled together in front of a fire listening to some sweet song, with some nice wine, is beauty to me. I am also an 'amatuer' musician, and have a large compilation of songs (instrumentals) that I work on in my very little home studio.
Basically, I am a single guy looking to start as very good friends that (*will stay as very good friends and..*) maybe/hopefully will turn into more. (This does not mean "friends with benefits"..) First and foremost, I am an easy going guy who can get along with almost anybody, no problem. I am a lover of (eclectic) art, literature, music, and all that groovy stuff that exists in this tiny corner of the universe. I like everything from Matthew Good to Sarah Mclachlan, Alexisonfire to Metric, as well as ambient electronica, U2, good jazz and folk music. Still looking at writing the best song ever; finishing my university degree; travel to every corner of the earth; write the best book out there...etc. Ah heck...on the other hand, I'd rather be lounging a very beautiful lake up North, (with my partner, a LOT...I hope..) with some fine drinks and music, and doing a bit of photography and such. A *great date* to me, is one that is a unique, enjoyable and maybe even a bit of an adventurous experience. Good conversation and fine food/wine are real pluses for me. I absolutely don't expect the first date to be "the ultimate judgement" of another person. Sometimes it takes a few dates. As far as activities, I am game...say, a hike through a conservation area, then for dinner and drinks, and I would be tempted to leave it open at that point. I like strolls along moonlit beaches; having a conversation underneath the earthshine of a moonlit sky. Honestly, I like to leave a fair bit to spontaneity. |
