I'm a laid back and down-to-earth person. I don't take myself too seriously. I have a good sense of humor and like to laugh. My job does not define my life. I work hard during the week, but relax and enjoy the outdoors on weekends.

I'm an attorney and work for a publishing company as an editor, analyst and writer. I write about federal tax law and try to make it understandable to our customers.

I enjoy dining out, tennis,hiking, kayaking, photography, bicycling, theater, movies, music. Weekend get-aways to Michigan, Wisconsin or Southern Illinois are fun.
I try to take 2 vacations a year. I enjoy England and London. Also been to Arizona and Utah a few times. I'd like to go back to New Zealand and spend more time on the South Island

I enjoy the outdoors and natural landscapes. I walk a lot because it helps me think. I also like being part of an urban area and all the energy and diversity it has to offer. I take advantage of Chicago, especially the outdoor festivals during the summer. The lakefront is my favorite place to walk.
I like dining out and trying new restaurants. I favor small intimate restaurants over large noisy ones.

I'm very close to my son, his wife and my grandkids and to my daughter and enjoy spending time with them. Family is very important to me.

I cook pretty well and like to bake. My oatmeal raisin cookies are a family favorite

I'm looking for a woman who shares common interests with me and who will also expose me to new interests. I'd like someone who can share her feelings and and be truthful at all times. Physical and mental attraction is important to me. I believe there has to be chemistry between 2 people, but that chemistry is something that can develop over time. Love at first sight would be nice, but building a deep love and respect over time has its benefits.

On a first date I like to meet someplace where we can talk and get to know each other. During the summer, an outdoor cafe on a warm evening is relaxing. The cafe at the Chicago Botanic Garden or the Lincoln Park Zoo are nice places to meet and take a nice stroll.
