I usually don’t talk this much about myself, thinking it’s somewhat rude to do so. However, since we’re both on Plenty of Fish, I assume you are reading this because you are interested in learning something more about me beyond my pictures and basic stats. I’d much rather hear about you, but since I don’t know who you are yet . . . .

If you are looking for a gentleman with a sense of humor and some smarts, you’ve come to the right place.

I am a fun-loving, dependable, honest, considerate, intelligent, imaginative, financially responsible gentleman who, among other things, likes helping others (both people and animals). I am trustworthy, affectionate, and attentive to the needs and desires of the one I am with. In addition, I enjoy sharing experiences, thoughts, and ideas with the woman I care about and who cares about me. I am hoping to find that special person right here. (Because of my height, my ideal partner would be 5'4" or taller.)

Originally from the northeast (almost, but not quite, New York City: “Get a rope!”), I came here long enough ago that I’m now a fully naturalized Texan. I enjoy laughing and sharing laughter with others, and I find humor in places that sometimes even surprise me. Also, I am fond of playing with words. English is a strange and wonderful language with lots of potential for fun. Let's just say I don't take myself too seriously and have never hesitated to laugh at myself.

I am respectful of others and their beliefs and expect the same in return. Here are some of the things I believe are important to living a happier life:

• Choose to have a positive attitude;
• Accept and appreciate the way things are;
• If you wish to understand, be neither for nor against;
• Do not judge others (or yourself);
• Treat yourself as you would a friend; and,
• As the Beatles sang, “Let It Be” and "Everything Is Beautiful."

I love to learn new things and experience new experiences. On the other hand, I am anything but reckless, not likely to leap before looking. Some have characterized me as deliberate and laid-back, not to be confused with someone living life in the fast lane or on the edge. Even so, I am always eager to try new things. Though I’ve never learned to dance, learning with the right partner would not only be fun, it would qualify as one of those wonderful new learning experiences just mentioned.

As a general rule, I don’t cook from scratch much for myself; however, I am really good at following a recipe, and enjoy cooking with someone special. There are a couple of signature dishes I prepare that I would love to share with you. However, since they are anything but diet foods, we probably should not indulge in them too often.

Whatever you'd like. Pleasing you pleases me. A quiet drink, coffee, tea, lunch, dinner . . . whatever you'd like. I'd like us to have an easy, good time, with each of us beginning to learn a little more about the other. Then, if there's mutual interest, on to our next meeting. If there's not, at least we've each met a new person.
