First off, do not hesitate to send a message - most particularly if I viewed your profile or added it to my favorites, but haven't gotten in touch! Yeah, I realize that I'm asking the potential viewer of my profile to reach out to me when I was hesitant to do so myself, but I'll figure out that little mental conundrum someday! ;)

I live in Sicklerville, and work in Somerset (or did until the end of May) - yeah, it was a LONG commute, and fortunately, I only had to be on-site two days a week.

Suffice it to say I'm a bit of a goofball, a touch absurd, and have that counterbalanced by an apparently remarkable level of intelligence, punctuated by moments of cluelessness.

Don't let the Halloween picture fool you, by the way - my talents as a musician are quite limited, but it is kind of fun!

Does the choice of "looking for" also strike anyone else as odd? I couldn't figure out which to choose between Dating and Long Term. I ultimately do want the latter, but doesn't the former have to happen for me to get there?

Note that I haven't put much in the way of absolutes for requirements - it's the whole "never say never" thing, because, frankly, you never know WHO the right person is going to be.

That said, the following are preferences, and NOT absolutes:

- Age range: 24-43, or thereabouts. Obviously, both personal maturity/intellectual level, and attractiveness level (well, attractive to ME anyway, I don't care what the guy next to me thinks), will play a factor.

- Distance: Preferably within a "reasonable distance" (whatever that is), but again, for the right person, that won't be a factor.

- Smoking: non or light preferred, but you never know who the right person will be

- Looking for: Let's face it, this is a dating site, thus, something above and beyond platonic, so if you're looking for Friends/Hang-Out/Email, I'll assume you want strictly platonic. If you're looking for one of those things but also have information about a first date, then I'll just be extremely confused.

As to points about myself

- Wants children: there was no "probably not" for children - again, under the right circumstances, who knows?

- Do you drink: Most accurate to say "very rarely." I have nothing whatsoever against it, but my palette is just a bit weird when it comes to alcohol.


For those wondering, yes, I actually have a functioning brain, and quite a good one if all the official paperwork is right. Granted, I have my moments of sheer idiocy, and I don't feel particularly smart at times, but I can hold my own, and, for better or worse, sometimes get long-winded and go off on esoteric topics.

By the way, I read and will reply to all emails, even though sometimes real life gets in the way and I don't do so in as timely a manner as I'd prefer. I am NOT the type to simply never respond - it just seems a bit rude not to, doesn't it?

Now, let's face it, in all honesty, there has to be chemistry. I think people say that without really knowing what it is, but, the best I can figure out, at least from my point of view, is:

1) Physical attraction
2) Mental attraction

Both have to be there... and, I know, shocking coming from a guy, but #2 is the way more intricate one, isn't it?

Oh, and I know, it's almost painful to know that I HAVE to say this - but please be clean.. in BOTH senses of the word: No STDs, and just hygienic overall. I am, and you should be, too.

Hrm, I don't know - it really depends on the person, what we have in terms of mutual likes, etc. I mean, some people are comfortable with a sort of "first meet" kind of thing that's just coffee or something, and others might well go with the first meet as actually being a first date.

It all really about what we both feel is right for the first time we actually see each other face to face and in person.
