Let's see, I think meeting for a drink is good if you are unsure about someone or haven't met them before. That way if there is no chemistry, you can slip out without being stuck there for too long in an uncomfortable situation. I don't do coffee, so a smoothie place would be a good daytime option. Once the ice has been broken I think that dinner is always nice. I also like daytime activities like an amusement park or hiking, the beach, etc. Something where we can have a conversation; a movie theater would be the worst.
