| | The headline actually should read "Of course I'm an optimist - what's the point benig anything else?" I didn't say this - sir W. Churchill did. But aren't those words to live by?? I am a happy person. Not "rah-rah" cheerleader happy (you know what I mean, don't you?) I was asked a few times, if I could be a celebrity, whom would I be. Answer is always the same - I'd still be me. I have my goals, my dreams, my ups and downs - but they are MINE. Hope this makes sense. I am not a supermodel or Aly McBeal type, but I am very comfortable with myself. I know what I want in life, and have pretty good idea how to get there. I have strong personality, and can be stubborn at times. All this doesn't mean that I don't like "old school" manners in men. Men and women are not created equal ;) (oh, I'll probably catch some flack for this!) I believe in men who open doors for women and get up when woman enters the room. So there ya have it - I am a very strange mix of "modern woman" and "old school" Am I confusing you? Sorry, I didn't mean to! I guess Meredith Brooks' song sums it up really well "I'm a little bit of everything all rolled into one I'm a ****, I'm a lover I'm a child, I'm a mother I'm a sinner, I'm a saint I do not feel ashamed I'm your hell, I'm your dream I'm nothing in between..."
And now we are ready for the next part of this "essay" - my match... For starters - if you are looking for "friends with benefits" deal - please, keep looking... I am not against making new friends, but if I am involved with someone, I don't "see other people", and I think I have the right to expect the same from my partner. But no worries - I don't expect us to make a commitment on the first date! I also need someone who will be able to stimulate my... brain :) Face it - holding hands, making out and all the rest is great (and I hope we'll do LOTS of it) but we will have to be able to talk - normal conversation, you know? Looks? I don't know. I used to think that I have a "type" I went for. But I was proven wrong. Type is not important. It's connection between two people. When you get chills just thinking about someone - BINGO, you found your type! Wow, for someone who didn't know what to say, I sure said a lot! There is no such thing as "ideal first date"! Doesn't matter how perfect the surroundings are, I think both will feel at least a little awkward in the beginning. So, I guess if you didn't run out screaming as soon as you saw your date you can count it as "perfect first date". |
