My self-summary I am a laid back lover of life. I enjoy playing outside. I like to hike, backpack, snowboard, snowshoe, bellydance, sand volleyball and anything else outdoors I stumble upon. I am well educated (although it does not always show), and I really enjoy my work. I am close to my family and friends, I have a crazy dog. I am an open and genuine person. I do have a few tattoos, if this is upsetting I am not the girl for you :) I can be intense and focused as well as playfull and silly. I strive to maintain a certain balance in my life between physical, emotional, and spiritual pursuits. Overall I am reasonably sane and stable ;)


What I'm doing with my life I am a psychotherapist and Reiki practioner. I am half heartedly trying to finish my PhD in Holistic Health while working full time and making sure I am in the mountains most weekends trying to keep up with my dog. I believe the main purpose of my life is to love people and help them learn to love themselves. All this may sound very airy and new agey but I am very much a realist and an advocate of walking close to your shadow self and dancing in all of the experience that brings.


I'm really good at I am really good at communicating with a great deal of honesty. I am also good at remaining calm and clear in crisis situations. I am very good at loving people....and doggies. I am good at forgiveness and not passing judgement. I am good at exuding a sparkley optimism about life. I am good at my job and I am great at giving hugs.


The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Most people have commented they notice my eyes first then how long my hair is. They also notice I am usually grinning like the cheshire cat:)


My favorite books, movies, music, and food Books books books!!!! I read like a fiend. I adore Tom Robbins, get motivated by Edward Abbey, balanced by 'Be Here Now' get lost in the metaphors in Marion Woodman books and angst ridden reading Ayn Rand. I typically have several books going at any given time.

I seem to go through phases with movies. I vascilate between obscure, absurd, classics to silly comedy. I do not watch many horror flicks unless they are really bad B movies such as Army of Darkness. I like the original Suburbia with Flea from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Romper Stomper, Fight Club, Clockwork Orange, Lonesome Dove, Blazing Saddles, all of the Mad Max films,What the Bleep?!, Wedding Crashers and many many more silly movies. I do not watch TV so if the TV gets turned on it is for movie watching.

My taste in music flows with my mood. I grew up a punkrock girl...much in the Dead Milkman description of such..haha. I own a number of vinyls of indie label punk bands from 'back in the day'. I still listen to Social Distortion, Mighty Bosstones, Black Flag, Rancid, Operation Ivy, Bikinni Kill,Spit Boy, Bratmobile, Dead Kennedys any of the Fat Wrechord label poppy punk. I also like bluegrass, honkytonkabilly, some country, heavy metal, drum and bass, native flute, gypsy guitar, and even some americana/folk....yep I am ecclectic.

As for food the spicier the better. I love the new mexican green chilli...in everything. I like Thai food, indian fare, aryuvedic eatings and just about all other vibrant flavors that cross my lips.

I spend a lot of time thinking about I spend alot of time thinking about human nature and nurture.


On a typical Friday night I am In the mountains, at a brew pub, out with friends, or at home curled up with the doggie watching movies. There is no such thing as a typical Friday night, thankfully!


The most private thing I'm willing to admit here I have a large tattoo of a Tolkein character I have had for 11 years, yes, that is before the movies came out but after the animated verson and record. So I guess that makes me a closet nerd.
