Kind, cereberal, music loving, artistic....and Time Challenged.
These are the words that pretty much desribe me. I guess I should qualify a few of them. I am only kind to people who are thoughtful, not selfish or thoughtless people. Can one be selfish and kind? Most definitely yes. But thats the subject of a date conversation not a personal description, which of course leads me to cereberal. Its fun to banter ideas back and forth without the petty prejudices coming into play. Like in college where you take an opposing view and find data to support it, even if you yourself don't necessarily believe it personally. A hobby, passion and profession of mine is music. I drum and sing and am booked with several bands through July of this year. Some of my favorite music to play oddly enough is not necessarily what I listen to in my leisure. While I play classic rock, country and blues, I enjoy smooth jazz like Larry Carlton's album Fingerprints and like classical music subdued for reading and sketching. Which leads me to being artistic. As a student of art (for life) a great deal of my living comes from the pursuit of art. Drawing has a very warm spot in my heart. Its the perfect love. It gives back equal to what you give to it. Come to the drawing table angry or depressed and the work will show that. So art is a solace I try to always give 100% to. Though I work very quickly, I never rush. As a sign artist for a major hardware chain I have the opportunity of drawing daily while I pursue my art at the college level as well, being currently involved in a figure drawing class as well as a graphic design class in the evening. Time for love. I guess I just miss a simpler time when there was no need for all this cyber-stuff. You catch her eye- she catches yours...I can dream can't I? Though I passionately involve myself in all my pursuits, I have a heart as well. Every now and then the touch of a woman is affirmation that I can love and be loved. Not a player, these moments are few and far between. But I guess thats why we're here right? Am I looking for that special someone? As someone who is actualized (which I am) I believe "that someone" to already be inside of me. I do not exalt women to the level or place the undue pressure on a girl of her having to be the "everything" of my life. That just leads to heartbreak and misunderstandings. I'm okay just the way I am. In the meantime however a friend to share a visit to a museum or just conversation over coffee talking of the day's events would be a nice distraction from the hectic pace. No strings here.
Ideal responder would be in mid to late 30's, committed to their lives and passions and seeking an occasional date for coffee and chat. Nothing heavy, unless the sparks happen to fly. Clint Eastwood said it best... "I don't go to parties where I'm not invited."

As I spend a great deal of my professional life in bars as a musician, I would likely not take you to a bar or go "clubbing." I am a bit more cereberal and would prefer a one-on-one to just get to know one another. Likes, dislikes, etc. I do enjoy coffee, so that might be a safe and potentially enjoyable time. As a professional artist/student I really enjoy museums. The Cantor Museum at Stanford has a great painting collection and now complete Rodin sculpture collection.
