Hello, and welcome to my profile. A bit about myself:
I grew up in Toronto, left after high school, lived a few years in New Mexico, then Israel, then Montreal. I moved here from Motown about 5 years ago, mostly because I don't like the cold. I love Vancouver for the ocean, the mountains and, of course, the tuna sashimi.
I was in school for a long time, studying mostly the cultures of the Middle East, languages and Video Production. It was all a great experience, but I realized during my MA that academia wasn't for me; since then I've worked in lots of different jobs - writing, teaching, bartending, etc.
I'm into music, art, movies, food, books. I listen to hip hop, funk, reggae, blues and jazz, and sing and play funk guitar. I'm also working on my jazz capabilities, which means scales scales and more scales - kind of relaxing in a Karate Kid Zen sort of way.
I spend my free time making music, playing basketball, reading, writing, discovering restaurants, cooking, camping, swimming, shooting pool and generally being a goof. My family are very important to me, but since they're scattered all over the continent I don't see them as much as I'd like to. I'm still working on building a community for myself here. I have amazing friends, who are smart, creative and funny, but I always like meeting other smart, creative and funny people.
