About Me
Wow,..I just re-read my profile and realized...it was pretty awful. So let's try this again. HA! Where to begin....hmmm...well if you respond to one of my advances you will end up meeting a tall, intelligent, articulate guy who likes to have a lot of fun. Now, that fun can include anything from hanging out at a dive bar, going to the Fox, Saturday afternoons at Forest Park, (or Tower Grove Park or Laumier Park), trying out new restaurants, or staying in cooking dinner together and watching a movie. I like all types of films from Tarantino films, the Coen Bros films, to films from the golden age of Hollywood. (I just spent an entire evening watching Lawrence of Arabia and Casablanca on TCM,..loved it) And just so you don't think I'm too girly..I really enjoy watching sports and MMA cagefighting!...LOL. I also play basketball once or twice a week to stay in shape, and am trying to find someone to start playing racquetball with. So all in all, I guess you can say I'm pretty much a city guy. I do like float trips, but rarely go on them. I've camped recently with my boys (cub scouts) and make the best of it, but really it isn't my bag, baby. I suppose I should give it another shot, going with just adults.
Does anybody else think it would be fun to find a group of people who would like to get together to play cards on a weekend night sometime (hearts, spades, whatever). I think our generation has lost something that our parent's generation had with simple nights like that. Call me crazy.
So thats the fun side of me. I guess the more thoughtful, sedate side of me is all about PDA's, little gestures and fun surprises.
The last books I've read were probably non-fiction..Blink, The Earth is Flat, The Post-American World,..I tried to read Angler (about****Cheney) but couldn't finish it. I haven't read much fiction in the past few years, but when I was reading fiction, it was mostly Sci-Fi (Heinlein, Scott-Card, Asimov, etc.) I don't watch much TV, but usually try not to miss the Colbert Report and the Daily Show. Thirty Rock is funny, and they are showing Third Rock from the Sun episodes on TVLand!! I love that show. For music, I love my XM radio, also NPR, KDHX and my new walkman which I'm still loading with MP3's (what would you suggest?)
So, enough about me. Let's talk about you. I'm looking for someone who is in shape, attractive, and intelligent, but not necessarily in that order. I like to be around people who live artfully, meaning they just don't mindlessly wander through life. That's not to say that we are going to spend Friday nights sitting around pondering existentialism. But rather we try, at least some of the time, to think more deeply about what goes on around us. 'Nuff said about that.
First Date
I'm not much one for coffee dates. But perhaps a drink in a nice place, preferably outside during nice weather, somewhere we can talk and get to know a bit about each other.
