My friends describe me as friendly, easy-going and adventurous. I love seeing and learning new things except for high-tech stuff. I enjoy people, traveling, reading, movies, card playing, barbeques with friends and family and good conversation over good coffee or wine. I enjoy traveling, especially any place warm or tropical - preferably not alone. I spend a great deal of time on the Sunshine Coast during the summer and shoulder seasons. I'm learning to kayak and have plans to take up golf in the fall. I enjoy walking on the beach,through forest trails,swimming, snorkeling and above ground camping. I'm blessed with long-standing loyal friends and two wonderful adult children and their spouses (no grandchildren yet ) My life is full and I'm enjoying the freedom that comes with my recent retirement but I would love to share it with someone special. I'm looking for a man with a positive personality, an easy-going nature and a kind heart. Good communication skills, a great listener and a dash of confidence would be good too. Preferring a great movie or concert over the bar scene is good. Having a good sense of humour and the ability to laugh at yourself is good. Being financially independent is good too. Emotionally stable is a must . . . I have no patience for moodiness, dishonesty or mind games.
Retirement is the new phase of my life that I am looking forward to. I can't wait to do the things I didn't have time for while working or money for while raising children.

If the first date were the very first meeting, I'd prefer coffee or a glass of wine and conversation. But a true first date could be many things. I picture a little out of the way place with charm, good food and a delightful atmosphere or a lovely picnic on the beach. The little things in life are more important to me.
