About Me
Looking to find someone to be a friend, and then see what develops from there. If not, will wish you the best success in finding the person you want.
I'm not looking for casual sex, drama, stalking or anything else I see from men on this board. Don't confuse this with weakness on my part, I grew up in the country, and can handle anything. I've lived in NYC and the Hood, so nothing bothers me, and I can take care of myself and anyone I'm with.
I like women with a great smile, confident, intelligent, optimistic, honest, family oriented, with a quick wit, great conversationalists, who can make me laugh. Someone who can tell me what they like, want and hope for, their interests, dreams and goals. A goal doesn't need to be to re-write the Magna Carta, it can be to do some charitable work, or even get a gallery opening you've always put off. A great goal is to build a garden or paint your grand children's bedroom walls with sea shells and mermaids.
I am turned off by women who's profile show, or send me pictures of themselves in low cut tops, bent over, with their breasts hanging out. If your t!ts are your best aspect, then click away. Women who send me pics of them in evening gowns that look like lingerie, drinking in hotel rooms, makes me think, OK, I get a line number, and I'm now behind how many others?
No Thanks.

Me, I'm honest, spontaneous, intelligent, motivated, hard working, affectionate, loyal, optimistic, fun, and know how to treat a lady, at least I like to think so. ;) I'm not bringing any baggage or drama from anything else in my life. I'm at home in the Country or wilderness, Times Square or Hong Kong. I like to wear a dress shirt and tie, but also at home in jeans and a t-shirt changing brakes on a car. I've spent allot of time in cities (NYC probably the longest), but grew up on a large farm in Southern Illinois, so the outdoors are my second home. I've Bailed Hay, Straw, Hoed Beans, De-tasseled corn, slopped hogs and other farm tasks, so not a "City Boy".
I don't really feel my age, and frankly, don't want to.
I'm looking for the right woman to encourage and help in whatever aspirations she has. That symmetry is why couples exist, why men and women both exist and grow. Why we live, love, and hope to grow old together.
I am again adding, I respect women who are self sufficient, who can survive by their own skills, who don't need a man, or anything else to get by. A strong, confident woman. This doesn't mean she has to make allot of money. Making it in the real world, surviving, and still being a woman, is the most appealing a woman can be. Being self-sufficient means more than clinging to a 9 to 5 job for 20 years.
Looking cute is a bonus, but then, this is fleeting at best. Cute is looking into your eyes at 75, and still seeing the woman you fell in love with many years ago, and she still is the same, but now even better with age.
I like someone who isn't in the least bit afraid to try new things or go new places. New places isn't the latest Macy's to open. OK, if it's a store, I'd go in an instant to a new Ikea if it opened here. Otherwise, new places are somewhere off the beaten path I've yet to find, and would really like to enjoy with someone new.
Things I still want to do.
Hike the hills around Lantau Island in China, never seem to find the time when I'm there. I want to go to Ireland and Scotland, and if I keep on my road of getting really back into shape, I want to hike Angel Falls in South America. I'd like to meet the woman that I can call my best friend, and help her achieve any dreams she still wants to realize, that we both can enjoy together.
I like going to Gallery Openings, Art from Degas to Warhol to English, Restaurants in the Loop or on Grand, Movies, Music from Classical to Rock to Alternative, Trivia, and Grafitti writers. I also do art, mainly sculptures, but never shown any in St. Louis, usually The Showroom on 2nd Ave in NYC, Collette Paris, Playground London or Secret Base Tokyo. I also used to write, had a Script optioned at one point, and thinking about maybe writing a new one, have a few ideas. (Have a "Killer" name.)
I like most any kind of food but fast food, but especially like Asian, Chinese (Dim Sum, not the junk most places have), Japanese (Sashimi is my favorite), Thai, Vietnamese, Turkish, Middle Eastern, and European. I also cook, most of my friends say I should have been a chef.
I have a core group of friends I've had for 10 to 20 years. Mainly artists, painters, writers, illustrators, sculptors, musicians and designers, some in St. Louis, rest around the world. Until I was just writing this, I never really noticed that most of my friends are all creative types. My friends also cover a wide variety of cultures, from down home America, to Middle Eastern, to European to Asian. Speak English, Japanese and Spanish. (And no, not Anime Japanese, conversational).
Lastly, I've been on a diet and exercising the last 5 months. I do weights, climb stairs and I've lost 70 Lbs, and want to lose 30 more. So a partner has to be someone who has the same goal, or has already achieved it, and will only help me to stay on track.
Oops, almost forgot, I play drums. Just started again about a year ago, after a 20 year break, and finally getting back to the level I used to play professionally at.
First Date
Just see the sites, or unusual restaurant or? Bars are OK, but rather have someplace unusual, or with a 50's blues band or swing or? I go every month to the Ritz Carlton to see Pennsylvania Slim, and some of the guys I've known for 20 years. But be warned, I like to dress in Zoot Suits or other equivalents, so if this scares you, maybe hide your eyes and click on another profile. Halloween isn't just for the end of October. ;)
Even an alternative rock club, as long as it's not a dive, can be fun. Not Looking to make the person I meet for the first time feel confined or uneasy, so Lunch, Diner or anything that you're comfortable with is fine with me. You can even bring along a friend if you'd feel more comfortable. I read a few of the men's posts, and boy, are there some real trolls out there. I wonder if anyone actually responds to half of those ads.
