It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me
is true.

If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your own life
from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure

and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,
“Yes.”

It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep

MY INTERESTS: I'm an avid reader of true crime but will "settle" for certain authors of other genre's if I have to * I enjoy attending festivals, concerts, being a passenger on a motorcycle (I'm a cruisin' girl, not a crotch rocket girl) or snowmobile * I enjoy boating, fishing (I'll bait my own hook & catch the fish, but I won't take it off, clean it, cook it or eat it cuz it's GROSS * Love to hang out on a beautiful afternoon on the deck especially if it's with someone special (apparently I also like creating long profiles!) * I would like to attend the interactive-type plays (i.e, Tony & Tina's Wedding, Murder Mysteries - there is one on the 23rd if anyone is game!) * I think it would be interesting to take a trip on a train, just to say I did * I haven't been to many places, but love to travel and hope someone will show me the ropes in exotic areas someday * I drink too much coffee - and caramel is my favorite flavoring for it

DEAL BREAKERS: Your Photo: If the picture in your profile is not a fair resemblance of who you are, and I feel an overwhelming desire to crawl thru the bushes looking for Cyrano De Bergerac's latest good deed, I will feel you are dishonest (and unsure or embarrassed) about the real you, and will be dishonest in many other aspects of your life. Once our time together ends, there won't be a second date. Drug/Alcohol addictions: Have fun, enjoy a few beers, even get blitzed from time to time...but if you do this daily, or try to justify it by saying the 12-pack you polished off started with a beer AFTER noon, and it took you 6 hours to drink it - rationalizing that since you only had 2 per hour, you don't have a problem - I won't accept that in my life

A first date doesn't set the tone for the relationship, but it DOES set the tone for whether or not there is a second. It is also the time that both of you either see/feel the "sparks flying" or you don't.

The first date should be short, sweet, and public. Dinner, lunch, coffee, something that doesn't involve an entire day, and that can be easily expanded if you find you'd like to continue talking, but easily escapable if you just aren't feeling the chemistry
