Hello and thanks for stopping to read my profile.

Some of my interests (but not limited to) are concerts, racing and sporting events (I am a Broncos fan!), car shows, museums, MUSIC, playing my Les Paul, lifting weights, riding my mountain bike, walking around downtown, hiking, road trips, movies, caring for my dog of 14 years, meeting new people, and trying to stay educated about the world around me and doing the next "right thing" whatever it might be.

I am a positive person that tends to take the bull by the horns instead of laying back and letting things happen. I am very self motivated. I had the mental toughness to quit smoking cigarettes 12 years ago. I have since become more of a health and fitness minded person as I go through my life. When I turned 50 last April I decided to really start trying to get into the very best shape of my life ever. I set fitness and exercise goals for myself and tend to work out between 3 to 5 times per week with weights doing strength training, and I walk, run, bike, as the weather allows during the winter and poor weather to get my cardio in and burn some calories. I believe there is always room for self improvement on all levels. I try to take care of myself physically, mentally, spiritually.

What makes me unique? Lots of things I suppose. I can speak Spanish fluently. I have traveled and worked outside of the U.S.A. several times, and would say that I have a broader view and can hold an intelligent conversation with most anybody regarding the countries I have been to and places I've seen. I have a natural understanding of mechanical things. For that reason I chose the profession I am in, and I have been successful at it for over 32 years. I have a son that just turned 25 and lives in Kansas City. I have a good relationship with his mother who lives in California. I do not lie to people and believe truth is always the best policy. I know that I would rather know what the truth of any matter is, as opposed to being lied to or withholding information. With each layer of trust that is built more is revealed over time. I think that is true with most people.

My taste in music is varied and wide. I like rock music from my youth and formative years as well as jazz and certain pop music. My mom was a jazz singer when I was a young child so I was exposed to a lot of jazz music at an early age. Also classical. My step dad was a blues enthusiast and I learned to appreciate the blues as well. When I turned 13 I got my first guitar. I started learning to play and found myself gravitating toward blues rock, or blues-based music. All the old Zeppelin and ZZ Top was heavily influenced by the blues and I really loved it. I got into Clapton, Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Trower, Johnny Winter, all the incredible guitar slingers from back in the day. I play them all. I took it as a challenge to learn to play the more difficult stuff as opposed to the easy "camp fire" songs. It's all good. But learning scales and patterns, learning riffs, touch, feel, etc., takes more time but more rewarding in the end when every band wants you to be their lead guitar player.

First date or first meeting? Nothing too heavy or confining. If there's no connection, both can bolt. No harm done sharing a coffee with somebody.

If there is a connection and an interest in having a first "date", then I would try to do a little bit of research regarding the lady's interests and taste and try to plan something accordingly. The time of year also would play into it. I pay attention and would try hard to pick something or make plans around what I think my date would enjoy.
