About Me
Thanks for checking me out and I hope that you like what you see. Read on and let's see if we have something in common.
Do you want a companion to explore the city, visit the MCA, the Lincoln Park Zoo or the Art Institute? Perhaps an evening out on the Millenium Park lawn with a little wine and cheese listening to music is appealing? Then there is theater. I love to go to plays and have great seats at a couple of excellent performance theater sites. How about a drive down south with the top down to see the southern Illinois vineyards and a B&B or to hike a bit at Garden of the Gods? Or a simple evening sitting on the back patio in Lakeview (or in front of a fire in the winter), listening to the sounds of the city and watching the garden with a crisp Chardonnay in hand and perhaps an informal dinner as well. Let's get some friends and play Euchre or Hearts all night. The possibilities are endless.
I love to travel. In 2006 I went to Africa for the second time. The first time it was Central and East Africa and a deep bush safari. This time it was South Africa and blend of safari, plus wine tasting in Capetown. What a beautiful, still troubled country. There are so many other countries still to explore, including our own here in the US. For instance, did you know there is a very good wine region just outside of Niagara Falls on the Canadian side (OK, so it is North America, not US, but a little poetic license is okay as well...)? Discovered it on a driving trip to and from Maine and really want to go back and stay at a quaint little B&B I heard about. What about you? Want to go scuba diving? I am an avid, if annual diver and there is some really beautiful diving in the Turks and Caicos Islands and many other places too. Let's put on wetsuits and fall over the side of the boat. Or, let's get on a bike and take a riding tour somewhere in the wilderness. Let's go see Alaska or Antarctica (before they are gone!!!). How about Asia? Regardless, let's explore a little.
I love what I do. I am a finance exec (not as high falutin' as it sounds...) and I work in early stage companies. I build teams of successful people and help them scale businesses to create value for investors and my teammates. I have been relatively successful in my career and that is defined by connecting with and supporting people that I stay close to and enjoy keeping up with and knowing they will be more successful as time passes. Work isn't everything, but when it feels like play anyway, that works beautifully! On the other hand, work REALLY isn't everything. It helps fulfill and give purpose, but it also provides the resources for all of those trips and all of the leisure activities that make life really fun.
If you are looking for a husband only, then you might want to pass on by at this point. I am looking to strengthen my network of friends and don't want to rush this, but even so I remain open minded to possibilities.
I am looking for a friend first who wants to explore, wants to play in this beautiful city and who hopefully likes to see the world as well. I value intelligence, wit and curiosity. All of those are very attractive qualities. Chemistry is hard to define easily. Guess the best way is to think about the twinge you get when look into smiling eyes and you just know that you want to know more about this person.
Just as importantly, I believe that attraction and long term chemistry is built around even doses of intellectual, emotional and physical interest, topped off by shared passions, goals and values. Let's get to know each other and see if that chemistry exists. In the meantime, let's develop trust and a great friendship. If you are interested, please drop an email.
