As for me…I’m forty-two and looking forward to the next half of my life. I have two daughters 21 and 16 (if yours are younger that's ok), three cats (and NO I'm not crazy...), a great career, a nice home and I am very content with my life. Yet at the end of the day it would be great to know that there is someone to have an intellectual conversation with, be goofy with or simply sit quietly knowing that comfort of companionship is all you need. In my recent dating experience I have been fortunate enough to meet some really great people but just not the “one”.

I’ve been separated for three years and will finalize that chapter soon. Yes, I know it’s a long time but we have absolutely both moved on. We are parents of two great girls so we do remain civil and there is no drama, we have even met each others bf/gf when they exist. In my opinion separated does not equal married, if it's a legal separation.

My friends say I have a calm nature. I'm genuine, loyal, giving, and thoughtful I also have a flirtatious side and try to live life to the fullest. I can be shy at times and prefer being pursued rather than pursuing (I guess I’m a little old fashioned that way). I can be comical or serious depending on what the moment calls for. I tend to be the rational/analytical type and think things through; there is always that BIG picture to think about. I'm not the jealous type, only show enough so you know I care.

I have many interests; music of all kinds; mostly classic rock and heavy metal (no rap or twangy country), sports (GO SABRES!), books; Sanford, Clancy, Brown, movies; drama, action, comedy and the occasional chick movie, I like to shoot pool and need to improve my golf game. I love to travel...long weekends out of town, camping, amusement parks, or something a little childish with my kids. I go to Florida at least once a year; I also rent a cottage at Sunset Bay for one week in the summer.

I'm not sure how to describe my ideal match. Not looking for perfection, it doesn’t exist, just looking for perfect for each other. He would appreciate the things I like as I would for him, funny, up for a good debate, not a fight. Physically there is no specific "ideal match", although I know what I like. Someone who is comfortable dressed up or down, you must take some amount of pride in yourself and your surroundings. I think a great personality goes a long way towards a true physical attraction. Communication, honesty, intimacy and trust are very important.

I am looking for that man who is my equal and is able to be a friend, a lover and a companion. A relationship that has a connection you can feel from across a crowded room.

Beyond that I think the complexities of meeting and getting to know someone go far beyond the internet.
