About Me
So, I'm to use this tiny little box to try to convince you why I would be worth your while? I'm not a salesperson, I don't have any pictures of myself with my shirt off, and I'm a terrible skier (water or that cold white powdery stuff). But, I can hike with the best of them, mix a pretty good martini, cook a meal that will raise your eyebrows (in a good way), and offer stimulating and entertaining after-dinner conversation - all in the same day. Seriously. Just ask my parole officer.
(Just kidding. I haven't seen my parole officer in years.)
Anywho, if you got this far, here's a little more about me...
I relocated to the US from the UK (via a two-year spell in Germany) in 2000 and I've been here since (via a six year stint in Colorado). Quite possibly the best career move I made was to accept a position in the medical devices industry, in which I am currently occupied.
Friends and acquaintances would probably describe me as: well-balanced and sociable, intelligent but not super-smart (though occasionally super-smart-arse), non-judgmental, generally good company. I'm a "cat person" - they make me smile (but dogs make me laugh - I'd like to have an Italian Greyhound some day). I think I could also be described as a "shy extrovert". Does that make me an oxymoron too???
Still reading?? Blimey. I enjoy everything from a stimulating game of table tennis to a stimulating discussion of life the universe and everything, a good hike to a good book, and a good bottle of wine to a good independent movie. And pudding. Oh yes. Pudding.
Now, about my "ideal match"... Do you like to read books and ask yourself "maybe I could do that"? Or take a detour on a hike to reach the top of a hill just to see how good the view is? Or do you recognize the value in opening a bottle of wine you've kept for a special occasion for no other reason than the fact that the sunset outside your window and the company are quite wonderful? Does any of this resonate with you? Are you someone perhaps willing to give her Prince Charming a fair chance even if he has trouble reaching the top shelves in the kitchen...? Then apply within :-)
First Date
Chai is always good for a first meeting - relaxing and inspiring at the same time. For the second, anything from eating or drinking to eating AND drinking (or drinking and eating - I'm totally flexible). Let's both plan on meeting somewhere we won't need subtitles to be heard. And then maybe burn off some of the scrumptious food with a stroll.
