My friends call me a man of surprises and contrasts. If we are in a Mexican restaurant, you'll be impressed when you hear me ordering from the waiter in Spanish. Red wine is the key to my looking and feeling young.

Life is way too short to not enjoy it no matter what you do for a living and I didn't realize this until after I graduated from college and spent five years in the work force. At some point you have to learn be comfortable with who you are and your station in life.

As a recovered workaholic, I can say that working 80 hours a week won't get you much farther than working 50. In fact, the people who show up for 40 and work 20 get most of the the pay raises and promotions anyway, so get over it. Take some time out to enjoy your life with your friends. Traveling is my favorite pastime and San Francisco is my favorite city to visit and I'd like to retire there.

A healthy sense of humor is important because life can be so very unpredictable. Life is not always as rosy and grand as people make it out to be. Humor and some good beer can really help. There are two kinds of couples: Those who can laugh at the situations life deals to them and those who want to have an argument about it. Laughter beats having an argument everytime.

Oh, I didn't pick the Damselfish because I'm in touch with my feminine side. It's because I'm an expert aquarist and keep at least a dozen fish in my reef aquarium.
My three damselfish are the smallest citizens of my 125 gallon tank, but they are also the most vicious. At just 3/4" long and weighing in at only 1.5 grams, my yellowtail blue damsel claims an astonishing 20% of my 125 gallon tank and will pick up a flat shell fragment in his mouth and try to shank my 3 1/4" long clown fish anytime he dares to enter his claim.

I love my animal friends. One of the the most interesting conversations I ever had was on a park bench in Washington, D.C. with a very tame squirrel who wanted to share my lunch. He had the hand gestures and facial expressions down! I had always figured that Ronald Reagan was kidding when he was talking about the squirrel who came to his window every afternoon to beg for a jellybean, but Ron wasn't kidding. Those Washington squirrels are shrewd and really know how to beg for food!

Coffee is OK, but I'm open to other ideas like meeting for dinner and a movie. It's not what you're doing that matters, it's who you're with.
