Anything but an ordinary guy - I am an intelligent, somewhat shy gent seeking a intelligent, energetic woman who serves as my compliment and some degree counterbalance. Spiritual and artistic Libra who still sees beauty in the world and would like to find someone to share that with.

I like intelligent and strong willed women who tend to speak their minds and are a bit rebellious against conventional thinking. I admire a bit of fire in a woman even if I may not always agree with her causes.

An ideal woman for me would be a bit of a tom boy at heart with a bit of a mischievous nature who likes the outdoors, cuddling and watching a good movie, music and drives in the country. And sometimes just doing the unexpected.

A good relationship should have a component of playfulness that needs to be let loose to exercise now and again-and the healthier this aspect of the relationship is the healthier the relationship generally will be.

At heart I am a true romantic. Maybe it comes from too many old time movies but I still have a degree of chivalry in my heart. I'm a bit of a knight if not in shining armor then perhaps a trifle rusted and unpolished armor. At the same time if I see my partner doesn't need my help slaying the dragon I am perfectly content to act as a cheering section.

While I'm quite comfortable as a homebody I also have a need to get out and have an adventure from time to time and would love to have a companion to share it with.

I am a pretty accomplished cook, not gourmet by any means but I know how to cook a good wholesome meal and even romantic ones!

I have a BA in Communications and two years of Masters study in same. I am of above average intelligence and am very well read. Kinda shy when you first meet me but that passes once we get to know one another-and you'll forget eventually that you ever thought I was shy!

I have an off the wall sense of humor, a bit dry and a bit twisted and acerbic with a dead pan delivery that at times may leave you wondering "Was he kidding?". I have an irreverent attitude toward sacred cows and have a bit of black humor about the things I find most tragic in life.

I am a man of unconventional spirituality living in touch with nature and it's cycles. The phases of the moon, the stars in their courses and and the turn of the seasons. I find the value in all spiritual paths and am keenly aware of the flaws in organized religion. I am very respectful of faith but less so of dogma.

I like animals, I have two kitties, Calliope and Thalia who are pleasantly neurotic.

I am an avid reader and always have one or two books lying open around the house. I also love most kinds of music (not rap though) these days listen more to jazz and blues than anything else but I have a large a diverse collection that you would be amazed at what's in there.

Also enjoy playing the many hand drums that I have in my collection, African, Latin American and even from India and Egypt.

I like puttering around in my yard, I've been picking and cooking up sour cherries off my tree and am looking forward to preserving pears and apples when they get ripe later this year.

You might notice I don't have any limits on who may contact me. I know what I think I want but I also know there may be possibilities I haven't considered.

I am widowed. I was married for nine years to a wonderful woman who I miss terribly. But it's time for me to look for love again It says I'm looking for dating and that's true but I do hope to eventually find a long term relationship.

While I do enjoy conventional dates I much more enjoy unconventional ones. Bike rides in the country, walks in the woods things out of the ordinary that allow you to really get to know one another. I like to pleasantly surprise my significant other and like little and sometimes not so little adventures—I just need someone to share them with!
