I've never understood people who go to the movies on a first date! On a first date especially, I want to talk to you and find out if we're compatible. My suggestion for a first date would be going somewhere like a sports bar. Something loud enough to be exciting (and allow some privacy), but not so loud you have to shout just to talk. A couple drinks tend to provide the "social lubricant", and you also have lots of TV's to watch if the date tanks after 15 minutes!
