For a first date---I would say that being comfortable for both people is most important so a good dinner at a restaurant with a good atmosphere, a glass of wine, easy conversation, and maybe a nice moonlit walk or a great club with some good music and a relaxing atmosphere--possibly with dancing---would be nice and not too overwhelming for a first date. I think that whatever makes two people feel comfortable enough to be themselves and just enjoy each other's company is what matters most.
