I'm a young woman who is just starting to get "settled" into this thing we call "adult life". Oh.. the amount of witty, sarcastic comments I could make, but for the sake of not scaring anyone away... I'll save that for later conversations :)

I'm basically a down to earth chick, not one to judge, understanding, light-hearted, comical, yet despite all that I have an innate ability to see and understand the more serious side of life. To me the glass is always half full, but at the same time I understand why it's empty. Keeping a positive frame of mind is crucial and it is a mantra I live by.

I have a lot of aspirations - I always view life as a series of paths, always at a crossroads: book publishing, academia (I would love to be knighted into English Ph.D. dorkhood), surrealistic screenwriter, crappy oil painter, graphic novelist. For the time being I've opted for the "stable" office life, but I'm still working on all those other areas.

I'd like to meet someone who is similar to myself I guess (but with the right opening line - well the right witticism will have me begging for your phone number lol). I'm not too picky, I just want to get out there, have some fun, and perhaps meet someone special along the way. Optimally, I would find that special someone and he would be a muse who understood my creative passions and attempts. Someone who is not too serious about life, but is well grounded.

Some more random stuff about me: I adore sushi and want nothing more than to actually make it one day. My favorite beer is Sierra Nevada and Jack Daniels is my best friend on my Friday Nights out. I adore surrealistic movies like The Fountain, Pan's Labyrinth, and especially anything David Lynch. I have several pilates DVDs and only manage to actually do them once a week. My book collection is intimidating, but I've only managed to read half of them. Bookstores are my weak spot (if I drive past one I grab onto something and clench my teeth as a reflex). I am overly fond of the beach at night and the woods. As much as I try to deny it, I am in fact a Jersey Girl. I love New York City but never really manage to go. I have an unhealthy obsession with Jack Black and Tenacious D, and all too often sing like them. I am a huge dork and I love to make people laugh. I have a quick wit that's sharp as a tack.

Anything goes: I love the outdoors (beach, hiking in the woods, or just relaxing under the stars), coffee, good wine, comedy clubs, a good play... take your pick lol.
