About Me
Hi, I'm an Aries who is German and English which means I'm detail oriented and have no sense of humor....ha ha! Now on to the important stuf:
In order avoid the rat-race and enjoy outdoor activities/the beach, I gave up a traditional IT software development job and started my own computer tech support business. This is definitely more work than being a regular employee; however, there are benefits. A flexible schedule is number one for me. I love being able to have breakfast or lunch at a favorite restaurant. Taking time off during the week is also nice. Who wants to drive to Tampa during rush-hour?
I enjoy meeting people who like me for who I am. It is the easier way. Open-mindedness, intelligence, and a variety of interests appeal to me. I like people who are pro-peace and view war as an absolute last resort. People who have an interest in what is going on around them and the science behind the issues are good. I'm not into people who are hard-line religious conservatives. You may see that "liberal" is very complimentary if you take the time to look up the definition.
My interests include eating a lot of Seafood. Thai Food, Sushi, and Vietnamese, are also great. The Organic Juice Bar is an awesome place. Walking is under-rated and enjoyable. I like to fish and play tennis also.
I'm not a big-time TV watcher but I have been known to watch CNN Presents, Lou Dobbs, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Futurama, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Camp Laslo, and the original Star Trek when re-runs are on. I go thru phases when it comes to TV.
When it comes to movies, Incredible films include Grave of the Fireflies(anime) and The Pledge(2001 w/Jack Nicholson). Entertaining movies include The Matrix Reloaded in IMAX, The Evil Dead, and Dawn of the Dead(2004). I'm crazy about IMAX movies. With IMAX movies, the genre doesn't matter. It could be a movie about the history of the domestication of horses and I would approve. I have watched quite a few foreign films; they tend to have more realistic endings than their American counterparts.
My favorite authors include John Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut, C.S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Ray Bradbury. I think Shogun is the longest book I ever read. Albert Camus' L'Etranger was probable the strangest, pardon the pun; or maybe, it was Dostoevsky's The Idiot. Voltaire's Candide was very entertaining and relevant to finding happiness.
I enjoy music. The genre isn't as important as the artist's ability. My musical tastes are varied. What I feel like listening to often depends on my mood. There have been so many incredibly talented distinctive musicians. It is always difficult when someone asks me what my favorite music is.
First Date
Meeting some place casual for lunch is a great way to break the ice and get to know someone. Maybe a beach restaurant with outdoor seating and a nice view of the gulf.
