My past…
How I landed up here in the Bay Area is a very long story…I was born in South Africa and left in my early 20s after my medical training. I lived in the UK for several years, where I specialized in anesthesia and travelled throughout Europe. Finally the English weather got the better of me and I decided to come to California. I have spent the last several years working at Stanford and don’t plan on leaving the bay area anytime soon…

My present…
I enjoy my work but I am not defined by it. I have a flexible schedule involving clinical work, research, teaching and a little travel for presentations and conferences. I am athletic and sport has always featured very prominently in my life. I am a “little” competitive and like to push myself for no good reason at all i.e. sub-3h marathons, Death Rides etc. I used to coach tennis, but now it is just a social thing (unless I’m getting beaten!). My next challenge will be a triathlon…if only I didn’t suck at swimming.
I have lived in three continents and traveled to over fifty countries. I love to explore and photograph as I travel. I would love to share this passion with someone with a similar approach to life.
I realize that no achievements and experiences are worthwhile if they are not shared. I am emotionally (not geographically) very close to my family. I am very outgoing and social, and love spending time with my friends; time spent talking and laughing about nothing in particular. I enjoy being in the company of people who make me laugh and who inspire me to be a better person. I also have an introverted side and enjoy my “alone time” to resync and think about life.
I am fairly laid-back with a positive and happy disposition. I am talkative and have a good sense of humor, specializing in sarcasm! I am intelligent and constantly seeking knowledge and understanding, while trying to maintain a balanced and active life. I am usually open to new ideas and adventures. I still believe in love, romance and forever.
I would ultimately love to have a family if I met the right person. I am looking for a life partner not life savior. Someone who can make me laugh and who doesn’t take herself too seriously, someone who is adventurous but still enjoys the simple things in life, someone who shares my integrity and loyalty.

A great date is one where you are so captivated by the person you are with that you get completely lost in time e.g. a restaurant date where you only realize that you are the last two in the place when the chair is placed on the table next to you. My perfect day would be an outdoors activity followed by a home-cooked meal (cooked together while listening to music and drinking a good bottle of wine), and later a snuggle in front of a Netflix movie, a fire-place or in the hot-tube (I have all three at home…except a fellow snuggler that is).
Understanding the limitations of internet dating and a thing called chemistry, a drink or coffee would be a good start for a first date…and we can go from there!
