About Me
I truly believe that meeting the right person has more to do with being in the right place at the right time than anything else, and so as my life gets busier and busier, and more and more of the ‘keepers’ get taken off the market, well, I figured I could use some help increasing my odds. So here I am.
I consider myself a very active person. I love the outdoors, the mountains, team and individual sports, and I picked up a travel bug a few years ago on a 6 month backpack around Australia and SE Asia that I have yet to get rid of. The symptoms were actually starting to wear off, but then I went to Nicaragua last year for some scuba diving and surfing, and it got worse.
While my work is important to me, I am a firm believer in work-life balance, and in the notion of quality over quantity. And while I do aspire to be financially comfortable, I am not driven to live an extravagant lifestyle, nor have I ever been motivated by money alone, unless it’s Canadian Tire money, because you always need stuff from that store.
I love music of all kinds, and enjoy going to concerts, especially outdoor shows. I also play guitar, and have been known to perform from time to time when life permits. In fact, rumour has it that I wrote and recorded my own CD recently, but you probably won’t get to hear it unless you are very nice and promise not to laugh at the really sappy parts.
I take care of myself, but I’m not hung up on appearance, so you won’t find a closet full of designer clothes or a bathroom full of beauty products at my place. To me, a $20 hair cut is high-end.
I love to laugh, and even more, to make people laugh, and have been affectionately referred to as a “sarcastic ***hole” by my closest of friends, at least once, maybe even twice. And I’m sure they didn’t really mean the “***hole” part. If your favourite movies include Spinal Tap or Team America, then we should probably talk.
Despite being active, I consider myself a very laid back person. And while I do get a little antsy if I’m cooped up in the city for too long, to me, a day in town is as equally enjoyable as a day in the mountains, as long as it ends with a bottle of wine and some good company. Having a hot tub nearby doesn’t hurt either.
Seriously, though, if you’re adventurous yet chill, spontaneous yet consistent, light-hearted, funny, and passionate about experiencing all the wonderful things life has to offer, then let me know as I think it could be a lot of fun to hang out.
First Date
Probably start off with something chill, like a walk or bike ride, followed by a drink, and maybe even a bite at a cozy restaurant. Really, just any relaxing setting where we can both be ourselves and just get to know each other without too many distractions would be perfect.
