I enjoy reading a variety of genres (including sci-fi, mystery, and biographies), crafting, hiking/walking, deep water running, computer gaming, dabbling in website design and spending time with my children (who are with me part-time).
I have a fantastic job that I enjoy, an awful sense of direction, and a great deal of curiosity! I don't tend to debate/argue about politics or religion but I'm generally willing to consider well-reasoned, rational points of view so long as the person isn't forceful or extremely dogmatic about it. I don't attempt to force my views upon anyone, although I'll discuss them if there's interest. I am not a religious person but I have a strong sense of ethics, morals, fairness and right vs. wrong.
I prefer the company of a pleasant few (or one) to the company of many. I'm not into the party scene and I would rather sit and converse than frequent a noisy bar (a laid-back bar is fine, though!). I enjoy getting out and sightseeing/dining, interacting with others, although I would rather do such things with a friend/partner rather than alone. I'm looking for some new friends to join me on my brand new start in life.
I believe a relationship is an equality. I'm interested in a relationship built upon honesty, trust and mutual respect. I'm stable, financially self-sufficient, well-adjusted, and emotionally mature and seek the same. I'd like someone who is comfortable with who he is and is self confident but not a braggadocio.
I enjoy quiet evenings next to a cozy fire with a good book/movie, day or weekend trips to Seattle, the San Juans, or wherever, etc. I like cooking for others (would love to cook WITH someone!) if I feel as though it's appreciated. I don't travel that often, but I wouldn't mind traveling more. I had the opportunity to take a two-month road trip several summers ago with my family. We had a wonderful time and saw some amazing things.
I've two great kids--a son who is 13 and a daughter who is 9--who are with me for extended weekends every other week and half-time during breaks. I do not physically wish to have any more children but I am ok with a partner who already has children.
Yes, I am "voluptuous" but after being in a 20-year marriage about 8 years too long it took its toll. I've embarked upon a diet and exercise plan that includes deep water running and ... ahem... Dance Dance Revolution and I've made reclaiming myself a priority. [Edited to add: Egads! The "twig/tree" reference refers to my body type--not an offer for immediate full access to my body as some have been interpreting it! This isn't to say full access to my body will never be available, but it will require that (1) I like you, (2) I respect you (and I have to know you a bit first before I can determine such things!) and (3) I think you like and respect me in return.]
If I watch television (which is fairly infrequent) it tends to be shows on the Science/Discovery Channel or occasionally HGTV. I like shows like "How It's Made" and "Dirty Jobs." However, I do like to sit and watch a good movie/show upon occasion. It's just not ALL I like to do.
