Well, this is an update. I purposely didn't fill this out before, because I wasn't sure I wanted to. I was also dating someone, and it didn't seem right or fair. I've come to the conclusion that we won't be continuing down the road together, even though she is a fantastic woman. I gave it a fair trial-3 years- and we remain friends. So, if you've read this far, maybe we night have something to converse about. It seems most of the people my age or thereabouts wind up at least talking about their previous relationships in the beginning, or so that's my experience. I don't mind. It gives us some common ground for openers- we've all had losses. I came to Texas because of one of those losses, and determined not to have a greater loss( my son). God works in mysterious ways. Living in Texas wasn't my 5th choice in life, but here I am. There have been great blessings along the way, as well as some hardships, and some absolutely wonderful friends. God's gifts come strangely wrapped, at times. I hope to find a close friend( haven't given up totally on "soulmates"), but I'm more realistic these days, and I know a real relationship takes time and willingness. I don't need someone who goes bonkers over little things, but we all do at times. I've learned to laugh at me, as long as noone else joins in...well, too heartily, anyway. I'm ADD w/o meds, recovering in AA(23 yrs), and an old hippie. I have my ups and downs like anyone, still idealistic, stubborn,and completely baffled by women at times. I like old hard rock and some not so hard, country(old), eclectic is probably most accurate. Knarls Barclay is one I like. I do have a 15(going on 35) year old and he is first. If the friendship develops well, I'll introduce you to him. He's a great kid. If you're looking for mister wonderful, you probably want to keep going down the list. I'm a decent guy with halfway decent character, but I stopped trying to be John Wayne some time ago. I'm very pragmatic and like to go with what works rather than force things. I do have boundries and opinions, but I am somewhat shy in expressing those. The world just isn't as black and white as it used to be. Neither am I. Well, if you've read anything that sparks your interest, drop a line. We have to start somewhere....

I think a casual dinner( I pay, thank you very much), or lunch or even breakfast somewhere. I like the idea of a flea market date because it involves walking and talking with treasure hunting(As long as it's not hot.), but I think anything with some sit down and talk time would be good. Some place you'd feel comfortable, with a fire escape or next to the police station at the mall...hee,hee...
