Time for an update….

Summer is over and now with the Fall upon us, like a wardrobe update I thought that a profile update would be appropriate.

I have met some wonderful people in my quest for a long term relationship, some nice, some not so nice, some that are nowhere near ready and others that seem to be “too” ready (after one date I have no plans to be exclusive nor discuss whether it will be a local or destination wedding LOL). Many believe that having an on-line profile denotes being desperate and displaying pictures to entice others for merely personal desires and satisfaction. If this is what you believe, all do respect but please pass me by!

Who am I? I am a 40 something year old woman who has successfully raised my children (youngest is a senior in high school) and hope that I have set a fair example for them to be productive adults. Working for the same company for almost 16 years, I am a mother, a daughter, a sister & a friend that happens to be a homeowner, financially stable (not rich but comfortable) and emotionally stable! Although I would not say I am a gym rat, I work out regularly and take pride that I take good care of myself. I am also not in denial, as I said I am in my 40’s and things are not what they once were. No plastic surgeries, no tattoos and the only piercings I have would be my earlobes. Life comes around but once so I am doing my best to seize each moment and live it to the fullest. I find humor each day and try to smile more than frown and love to laugh (even if it is at myself). Along life’s road I have learned many lessons, some heart breaking and others that have created the most profound memories! Each and every experience we have in life can make us bitter or BETTER, personally I strive for the later of the two! We have all been dealt a deck of cards and it is up to each and every one of us to choose the next card we lay down, sometimes the dealer wins but other times the cards may surprise you. Look forward to those surprises and cherish each one.

Who am I looking for?

A gentleman with a bad boy side who smiles often & laughs much and does his best to see the glass as ½ full... One that enjoys many types of music and activities, movies, theatre, cookouts, anything near the water, rain (thunderstorms even better), kids, dogs and even cuddling on the couch taking in a good movie. Someone who's spontaneous and enjoys traveling, self assured, emotionally and financially stable. Most importantly, open to love and is ready feel the magic that only true love can provide. Are you ready for the butterflies when your special someone walks in the room and remember her scent and can often smell it when she’s nowhere around? Do you believe that romance still exists? Someone who's not self absorbed but believes that a relationship must be nurtured by both parties. He will have activities, friends and hobbies that he's pursuing and although would love for his partner to be with him believes all healthy relationships need healthy space as well. If this sounds anything like you or you have more questions…..just ask!

There are a few things that have touched me since joining POF that I would love to share (thank you to those of you who have contributed to this);

~As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
~You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
~You'll fight with your best friend.
~You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
~You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
~So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never
~NEVER underestimate the power of rain it can move you beyond belief. Not only does the feel of raindrops gently flowing off your face move you but it can send shivers down your spine!
~ Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

I am open for suggestions, someplace relatively quiet so we can talk and get to know one another a bit. This is something that should be planned together don't you think?
