| | Hi, I just realized how bitter I sounded in my profile before, so I decided to make some adjustments. Anyway, I am a busy art/culture student (no, science students aren't the only busy ones) so I'm just looking for people to talk to or meet right now.
I love watching and discussing movies. That is because I tend to go for movies you have to think about, though I also watch movies for the sheer entertainment/escapism of them because, let's face it, movies that make you think are not that common.
I enjoy talking about art but I try not to dissect and eventually drain works of all its genius by trying to interpret everything. I also like debating, especially about philosophical concepts (though they never really lead anywhere, especially when it comes to religion).
That brings me to the next thing: I am not religious but my philosophy is mostly Buddhist. I don't meditate, but basically, I believe in reincarnation, karma, and respect for life in all its forms (among other things). Technically, I am a pescetarian (not a vegetarian yet) because I still eat fish sometimes, but I have not eaten red meat in about four years.
I loooooove taking pictures. I mostly do nature stuff because I don't need to ask plants for permission, but I also like doing more urban photography and I really want to start doing portraits. I also do other artsy things like writing the occasional short story, making collages, doodling on random pieces of paper I come across, etc.
I usually dislike activities that involve being in the sun for a long time because I hate tanning. Doing sports and exercising in general are not things I have ever enjoyed. I do work out, but only to look good, NOT because I enjoy staring at a TV and/or listening to dance music on my iPod in the hopes of forgetting that I've only burnt 200 calories on the treadmill, lol.
I love creative, intellectual, open-minded, and passionate people. Conversely, I hate apathetic, ignorant, closed-minded, and superficial people. I regret to say that I am also an academic snob that is mostly interested in other academic (or at least cultured) snobs. Okay, people interested in learning or knowing more (even if that's out of an organized education system)! Oh, and I have a weird attraction to artistic geeks.
If you are wondering why I don't have a picture up, it is to avoid getting e-mails that say nothing more than "hey you're cute" or "you're beautiful let's chat," or worse yet "what are your hobbies?" ...Hello?! That's why you read the profile and see if you have things in common, no? Anyway, I can't use words to prove I am good looking, but think of it this way: I am a petite art student of European heritage. I'd say the odds are pretty good. ;)
Well, in case you haven't noticed by now, I am pretty sarcastic. I also love dark humour so I don't get offended or uncomfortable when talking about "taboo" things. Congratulations for making it to the end of this, shall we say, extensive profile. At this point it might be worth it to say "hi;" you've already invested a considerable amount of time! |
