I'm me. Which is to say I enjoy the outdoors but don't spend as much time there as I would like. I enjoy bicycling, hiking, volleyball and any number of outdoor activities when I get out. On the other hand I also am not afraid to admit I'm a certified geek. I have 5 working computers in the house... My knowledge of computers, though , is what keeps a roof over my head so I'm happy to say I'm blessed to get paid for my hobby! I love to read, watch movies and cook amongst other things. I know that's not much to go on but you can't put a lifetime into a paragraph and you can learn more about someone in one look than you can by reading their biography.

As far as what I'm looking for. If I knew what I was looking for I'd likely have found it by now but I suppose looking for someone to share the good and the bad with. I'm looking for someone to cook for on week days and someone who will share stories about their day so I'm not always worrying over mine. I'm looking for someone for whom life is a journey, not a crisis. I'm NOT looking for someone with all the same interests as me. What fun would that be? Half the joy of meeting someone should be in learning about them and learning from them!

Reading some of the profiles on this site becomes amusing. For example - "Men without four year college degree need not apply" Seriously? Ok, so I couldn't afford a college degree but I've read some 100+ books per year for the last decade and a half about things "I" wanted to learn about not what the curriculum as some college said I needed to know. But clearly it's HOW you got to this point in your life that's important to some people, not WHO you have become or what kind of a life you could make with them. That's a shame.

I think people used to spend more time getting to know one another. Technology has given us so many options in our lives, even in the dating realm these days, that no one is willing to try anymore. If things aren't "perfect" they move along because the next try is just around the corner. The big secret that they hopefully learn is that perfect is when two people work at it. Perfect is when they realize that arguments or even discussions are not about being right but about understanding each other. Perfect is something that is usually made, not always found.

Go for coffee, maybe a walk... something where we could talk. Something outdoors would be nice, hiking, bicycling, anything near the water... I like dinner and a movie to, at least some of the time, be a good home cooked meal and a DVD.
