I'd love to meet a man who still has an optimistic, idealistic world view. Kind of an aging hippie with brain cells intact. I'm involved in micro-financing for women in Guatemala...still trying to change the world I guess, how about you?
I'm an art teacher for my day gig, so I have summers off for hiking, biking, camping, singing, and watercolor painting. I'm politically liberal and a spiritual seeker, (loving the works of Eckhart Tolle right now.)I prefer foreign and indie films, vegetarian ethnic cuisines,and any kind of creative collaboration.
I work on my Victorian house sometimes in the summer, attempting to bring back some of the character that various former owners have destroyed (with "upgrades" like cottage cheese textured ceilings.) I also had a vegetable garden here for the first time in 15 years, and grew way too many tomatillos.
My new infatuation is with my baby grandson, born in May. Talk about someone who lives in the moment!
A favorite hang out is Swallow Hill, where I have taken several classes. I guess you'd have to say that my favorite music is live. Come sing harmony at my campfire!
My life's passion and purpose involve helping people develop their creativity, silence their inner critic, and heal their inner artist. I host a monthly group to mutually support creative people, based on "the Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. If you are feeling artistic twinges or are a working artist, we might have a lot to share.

My perfect first date would include a brief conversation about your dreams and passions, but would not be like a job interview. Probably a walk in the park, followed by ducking into a little cafe that we discover together. Lots of eye contact,hopefully some humor,giggles...keep it light and fun.
