With so many people looking for matches it seems a miracle that anyone could find the perfect relationship, but it apparently happens. It is worth a try. I am a professor at a local university. I suppose I could retire but I still enjoy my work. The last couple years have been busy with a book project that has just been completed. I believe that finding enjoyment in the ordinary things in life is more important than an exotic vacation once a year. However, I would like to travel more -- with the right person. Last year I spent a week in Ireland.

Description: I feel and look (I believe) younger than my age. My students usually estimate my age in the mid 50's. I work out regularly -- I have a weight machine & step machine and have averaged 230 30 to 60 minute aerobic sessions per year. I have done some Pilates lessons and after re-reading Younger Next Year I was inspired to get a personal trainer to upgrade my weight training.

I am a quiet person, especially in a group but I like being with people although I am quite comfortable alone. A couple years ago I sold my house and moved to an apartment. I recently bought another house. I am fairly good with house maintenance; however, a house is more fun as a joint project. A good day’s work in the yard followed by a beer and cooking out would be a fun day.

I like computers and high-tech things. I appreciate quality but I don't like anything ostentatious. I am a low-profile person. Who would I like to date? Since I am a low-key person I am probably best counterbalanced by someone who is a bit more outgoing. I am open to doing and learning new things but I think I would be more compatible with someone who enjoys day-to-day life rather than someone who always has to be doing something. Since I enjoy food and drink, I would like someone who feels the same. Someone who enjoys cooking would be a plus.

One sentence history: Married twenty years (two children), divorced, remarried, second wife died in 2000; thought I would get married again but it hasn't happened.
