A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS - Hello! My name is Stan. I am 70, 5'6", (previously 5'8"(An attempt at humour)) divorced, hazel eyes, brown hair. I thrive on cultural activities, theatre, dance, music, concerts, ET AL, support and subscribe to a number of them. I read prolifically, fiction or nonfiction. I enjoy getting together with friends or family to share food and wine and discuss theatre, art, books, concepts, ideas, etc.

Sports and other active activities are equally important. I love nothing better than to be skiing down the side of a mountain above the clouds and feeling mythological God like. I have just booked a ski vacation to Aspen, Colorado in February 2010. I am the last of thirty skiers who have succumbed to Florida during the winter months. I guess everything at a point of time. Eventually I may reside in the Elephants dieing ground like everyone else. I cycle, motorcycle, roller blade, play tennis, and work out to keep fit which becomes more important the older one gets. I am neither a jock nor a natural athlete but always play to win. My hobbies include photography, architectural wood carving and furniture building, specializing in 18th century reproductions. Fulfilling a dream, I took a one year sabbatical from my business and became a full time student at Humber College, studying “Fine Furniture Cabinet Making". I graduated last year, back to work and, as a hobby, am designing and producing fine cabinets for friends and family. I have been sailing again this summer after a hiatus of thirty years and am thinking seriously of purchasing a cruising class sailing boat.

The one I seek pursues a passion. I am after that special person who takes pride in themselves who I can love and respect. I look forward to hearing from you.

The intangible spark has to be there within the first few dates. It does not work unless that attraction is there. It is not a learning experience. I enjoy meeting someone over a glass of good wine or coffee. Conversation starts in a relaxed atmosphere. I am a good listener, as well as conversationalist, and am interested in your views and ideas. It would be nice at the end of the date to come away with a good feeling, and an anticipation for the next date as we get to know each other.
