Time for a fresh start. Decided to move to the Big City, got a roomy apartment in one of those 3 unit buildings so common in Manchester. Nice large kitchen, so I decided to start cooking, let’s make an omelette. Called my friend Liz for instructions, cooked it and was proud of myself.

Discovered that unlike the last place I used to live in, this apartment is not self cleaning. Got a broom, a mop and the Super Turbo Cyclone Supreme 3000 Platinum Edition vacuum cleaner. Discovered that just buying these items won’t make the apartment clean, called Liz for instructions on how to use them.

The neighborhood is nice, not too many shootings at night. Everything I need is in walking distance: The park, the supermarket, the ice cream stand and Dunkin Donuts. Discovered some interesting things, like that people actually live next door, and once you become friends, you just knock on each other’s doors and stop by for a coffee or invite them for dinner. What a concept. Of course, having a 4yo son who thinks that everyone’s home is his playground helps.

Job situation is perfect – got a part time job and work mostly from home so I have time for myself and for my son. Just need to start dating, it’s been too long, so called Liz for instructions. She said go on line and write: Enjoy going out to dinner, looking for the other half, financially and emotionally secure, easy going down to earth, life is too short. Don’t forget walks on the beach and sense of humor and don’t say you’re fat, say few extra pounds, and don’t post the picture wearing that suit you bought for your graduation, use that cute picture with the baby, the one that you look like you have hair. I asked her about enjoy biking and skiing love the outdoors work hard play hard, she started laughing. You’ll find someone nice, she said, you will.

I hope she’s right.
