I'm looking for a person who stimulates me mentally and physically. I've been told I'm the type of person that grows on ya, but that usually doesn't work well on a dating site where first impressions and getting someone to like you right away is what really matters. I'm not exactly a sweet talker, maybe I should work on that? I'm honest, sometimes too much so. If I could filter words, it would probably be a plus.

I want to talk about some of the things I dislike, especially after being on this site for a few months:
1. People who can't spell in their profiles or messages. Even worse, if you want to be a teacher, and you can't spell, double points off.
2. Gold diggers, yes...I have a job, and no, I'm not taking care of you. I'm very independent, and I want a girl that is independent as well and can stand on her own two feet. Two of us together like that would be an awesome combination!
3. People who assume since I have "dating" in my profile, I'm not looking for anything serious. Honestly, you need to go on a few dates with someone before you can figure out where its going to lead. If I was looking at everyone for Long Term, I'd probably be depressed.
4. When you write for your first date: Anything, as long as its a good time. What is a good time honestly? For me, it could be a vacation to California to raking rocks out of my topsoil in my backyard. You may have varied interests like that as well. What I'm saying is, don't answer that for a date with me. We might end up picking rocks in my yard.
5. This is the final one (at least for now), people that don't message back. It's difficult to send an "ice breaker" message and I know some of them I send are probably pretty pitiful, but you could at least send back a message that you aren't interested...I won't cry or be mad at you. I'll actually have respect for you for saying that to me and I won't ever bother you on here again :)

Some other general information:

26, college graduate of Electrical Engineering, working as an Engineer at the local nuclear power plant. I bought my own house in October 2007, remodeled for about 7 months and moved in last May. I love being a homeowner. I enjoy many different activities, and I enjoy being out socializing. I also enjoy some down time being home to relax. I love to travel, especially road trips, been all over the US, Canada and some of Mexico. I can never vacation enough. I also enjoy summer picnics, winter parties and lots of other activities in between. I also love to work on my house, cook and learn to do new things.

I appreciate the simpler things in life. That being said, lets do something outdoors. Lets go hiking somewhere, maybe to a lake to relax. Maybe hit a local carnival or fair, walk around and enjoy each others company. I got all sorts of other ideas, driving range, mini golf, bike rides, tennis. I enjoy activities that bring out someones passion and sometimes competitiveness.
