I am not your average, ordinary man. Definitely a bit left of center. I spent a number of years working in the Record Industry and as a radio DJ. (I'm told I have the voice for it. I think I've got the Perfect Face for radio.) I'm very funny (have done a little standup comedy), very bright and was a member of Mensa, a club of geniuses. (Yeah, I know, it surprises me too.) and am honest, open, and a truly nice guy. Rich? No. Sorry. I like making people laugh more than almost anything else. I'm very comfortable in my own skin, and always see the glass as half full. A few years ago, I rediscovered a love for sailing and try to spend as much time on the water as possible. But most of the time on the boat I am helping to refit it, to get ready for world cruising. I was married once, long ago, but we never had any children. I've got no tattoos or piercings, and I am not really into sports. I'd much rather play them than watch them. But if you're into baseball or football, I'll watch them with you.

But, I haven't had the best of luck with internet dating so far. The first person that I ever met online in Houston turned out to be a 6 foot tall, 350 pound, guy in a dress. (Yes, really.) The next person I met at 1 in the afternoon on a Sunday and she was so drunk already that I could smell the booze in her from 4 feet away. The third was still on parole for nearly beating her last boyfriend to death. Another I thought might be perfect; she was attractive, had a great personality, intelligent and funny. Perfect, that is, until she pulled out her crack pipe. More recently, I met someone describing herself as "average" but was really shaped like a beach ball. The very next person I met wasn't quite the beach ball, but she was a real mean drunk. Thankfully, in retrospect, it's all kind of funny. In retrospect, anyway....

I came to Texas from Minneapolis many years ago to escape the cold and the snow, and I've enjoyed it a bit. I've worked at home as long as I've been here, (and longer) so it's been a little difficult for me to meet people and make friends in the workplace when the workplace is bedroom number 2. I tend not to go to bars unless I'm with friends or a really good band is playing.

Oh, and here's the best part: I always put the toilet seat down.

I want to find the one special woman to spend the rest of our lives together, happily laughin' and dancin' to the end. Life is too short to not be happy.

I am predominately looking for a woman between 45 and 58, but will make an exception for an exceptional person. I hope to find a woman who is very smart, conversant, sweet, sees humor in most all situations, and must just crack me up! I would like to meet a down-to-earth woman who can handle herself and might not mind getting her hands dirty, not a "helpless" princess.

I'm looking for a confidante, a best friend, someone with a hand to hold, a lover, but most of all, someone I can talk with, who can talk with me. And of course, I'm looking for a woman that I find attractive, who finds me attractive!

All kidding aside, (and I love kidding) I'm not here to play games, email and IM forever, serial date or try to have one night stands. I'm here because I sincerely want to find the one special, lovely woman who maybe, maybe, eventually become the second and forever Mrs. G.......

There really isn't anything whatsoever tying me to the Houston area, other than a house and a condo. I'm able to relocate almost anywhere for the right person because my job is portable. But I'd prefer to live someplace in a coastal setting where it never snows... The desert can be beautiful, too.
