I don't consider myself as your 'typical guy'. I don't enjoy spending hours watching sports on TV. I do enjoy social drinking but never slur or stagger. I love to laugh (even when it's at myself) and my friends tell me I have a good sense of humour. I have a 16 year old daughter that I see fairly often. She's the #1 priority in my life. I'm employed as a commercial building maintenance mechanic and also do drywall, plumbing, minor electrical, decks, windows, etc. on the side. I enjoy building and upgrading computers, but also write poetry and make a mean loaf of bread. I'm a huge music fan (almost any genre) and have an extensive library.
I live in Minden, where I was born. Lived in the city most of my life, but I guess "...you can't take the country out of the boy." This is home.
I believe chemistry, communication and honesty are the keys to a good relationship.
I've gone years without a date (small population here) because I won't waste my time (or theirs) if the chemistry's not there.
I only date one lady at a time and expect the same in return.
I'm a hopeless romantic and I've experienced love. The euphoria, warm comfort, endless daydreams and the seemingly inevitable pain that goes with it. Call me crazy, but I want that again. I have all the time and patience in the world to ease into it, but that is my end goal. The undeniable chemistry that triggers the warm rush of endorphins on first meeting. The gushy feeling like you're a teenage virgin playing footsies with the person of your dreams. The thought that this could easily be the person you want to share everything with for the rest of your life.

I think a first date should give the opportunity learn about each other, so a movie is out (I like to hear the dialogue). I'm open for almost anything else; coffee, a day at the beach, walking the many trails we have here in Haliburton County or through a forest or field. I'm not averse to trying new things (tennis, rollerblading, horseback riding... whatever). Your choice. Try me.
