hello and thanks for taking the time to read my little blurb.

firstly, i am new to the area and am settling in with a new career and a new home with all that entails; finding a decent social outlet has been a problem i must admit.

i think my little house suits my personality quite well. it sits outside of the city a little distance, great scenery, nice neighbours, lots of strong trees and a landscape that is totally northern ontario with fine rock outcrops and blueberries.
to that end i like trying new cheeses for some reason.

the bar scene doesn't offer much interest for me as i greatly prefer a conversation not requiring having to yell over the crowd and surf through the noise. besides that, way too much drama for me. that being said i do love to dance.

i am originally from nova scotia and possess the good humoured and charitable spirit we are known for (working on the humility lol). good food with diverse and challenging conversation is always appreciated and well thanked. i am a very chatty fellow and like to learn as much as i can about pretty much everything and everyone.

for education, i am university, college and trades educated and am happily employed with a local mining company as a miner. i have a great job i must say ! my work has an unusual schedule but also has ample time off and more if i want it.

what free time i do squirrel away i give to my family, friends and to the community as a volunteer with a service group.

i like all variety of music but can't get my head wrapped around the whole rap thing. in my general day anything from classical to stompin tom is good for me. recently i bought a fiddle thinking i could play. it turns out i can't, so sadly and horribly not. for a bit of fun though i am learning the chanter (bagpipes jr).

i also like to read; mostly historical or societal mysteries. hmmm, who killed jfk, perhaps the free masons or his own staff, perhaps he is still alive?

i am not one of those testosterone beef cake types with the outlook of absolute beauty being only in one fashion or dress size. what makes us all so great, and aren't we all, are our differences but some fundamentals of chemistry and conversation need to be there for sure. i stay fit through a decent diet and working around my little place. i am not some model (lol) but i tend to not really care all too much if i go to the grocery store in overalls or a suit. by the way, yes, i do own suits but my ties hang on the door knob. 1/2 windsor, full windsor as friggin if ?!#%^.

my hope for all of this fishing is to connect with a woman who knows what she wants from herself and others, has faith in others and knows her history as a person but is not consumed by shadows of it all. life can throw a real bunch of haze in front you some days but to let it compress you is not the answer for somebody who is to be in my life. equally to not deal with life is not the answer either. i don't mean to sound rigid but experience is a good teacher. i want an equal, a friend and a partner and not to be confused with a bad ex or something.

it was once said that, "those who do not learn history are condemned to repeat it." in other words if you go to the doctor and tell him/her it hurts when you put up your arm; stop putting up your arm.

people have described me as a balanced, reflective and considerate man with a capacity for laughter, story telling and making others feel at ease with sincerity.

that's like the rest of life, you have to start somewhere. in this case, something mutually agreed would be the best way. for me, i have a fire pit, so if you have an old couch, hell throw it in !
