I'm an honest, easy-going, musician, artist, and (aspiring) writer. I'm kindof a shy guy but I open up once I get to know people.

I really enjoy listening to, recording, and discussing music, hanging out with friends, watching crappy old movies (though new movies are okay too), artwork, reading, writing, Kung Fu training, video games, and discussing politics/philosophy. I have a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Journalism.

My favorite band is Porcupine Tree, but I like just about anything so long as it isn't country or rap. Death Metal, Classical, Irish Folk...I'm not picky. I play piano, guitar, and I sing. My whole family is musically inclined so I've been surrounded by it my entire life. My uncle has a recording studio in Knoxville so I get a lot of hand-me-down equipment for my own little studio (a.k.a. a room in my apartment with a bunch of keyboards, amps, mics, and such hahaha). I've been recording music for over 10 years, but I feel like I'm finally coming into my own now.

I'm the kind of person that prefers a small closely-knit group of friends over a huge list of acquaintances. I would trust any one of my friends with my life and I think that's the way it should be.

I'm looking for someone who is kind, honest, caring, and intelligent. A pretty face is nice, but alone it's not enough. I want someone that I can have a genuine conversation with. Someone with whom I can share my thoughts and feelings (and will share their's with me) without feeling like I'm talking to a brick wall. Someone who I can laugh and cry with; whose absence brings melancholy to the heart and whose company brightens the day.

I'm a passionate music lover and I'd like to meet someone who is equally passionate about music. Any hip chicks out there who play guitar get 100 bonus points and a cookie :D

I suppose it would depend on the person. I don't think there's a "one size fits all" answer to dates. I would want to do something we would both enjoy. I'm fully capable of enjoying a quiet, romantic dinner just as much as a full-blown mosh pit at a concert. Movies are fine too. Simply lying on some grass and watching the stars can be just as much fun as staying up late, listening to music until the wee hours of the morning. For me, it's not about the activity, it's about the company. I think that as long as you enjoy the company of a person, anything you do with them will be enjoyable. That being said, I think I would just try to find out what types of things we would both have fun doing and go from there.
