I enjoy travelling and want to meet someone who is like-minded. I am an accomplished cook (my specialty is Thai food!) and I enjoy entertaining. I love to surprise that special person in my life with a romantic, candle-lit dinner just because.

I love to hold hands, watch a great movie curled up on the couch together, walk arm in arm along the beach in the crisp night air. I love romantic gestures, and someone who isn't afraid to be real and vulnerable with me. A gentle touch, a loving glance, a hand on the small of my back -- these are some of the most beautiful and connecting moments.

Not to burst the bubble here, but I also really, really like to shovel snow. Bizarre maybe, but true.

Making me laugh is essential. Making me cry is optional, unless for the right reasons. If you know your way around a hammer, or can teach me how to start my lawn mower without either of us winding up in traction, we may be perfect for each other.

My hair is naturally curly (wild at times); I am comfortable in my own skin--all of it--but I'm now taking some time to adopt a more healthy lifestyle; simply put--Eat less, move more.

No, I won't climb Mount Everest with you but I will wait at base camp with your oxygen supply. Same goes for swimming with sharks, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes, or cobra kissing. I won't stop you from doing any of these foolish things
--fill your boots and/or your pants. I'll wait on shore/land/far away with shots of tequila, tranquilizers, anti-venom, or clean underwear, whatever you need.

I love to be treated like a lady, but I am not a diva; I can be casual and care-free as well as sophisticated and elegant. I own heels AND running shoes, Sorels AND cute little sandals. Not looking for anyone with a foot fetish, by the way, just trying to describe my style!

I have raised two amazing children, the loves of my life, both university students now, and it's time for me to have the life I desire and deserve -- more travel, more sampling international foods and wines, more time spent with a special person in my life.

I don't play games (other than board games or a game of badminton); I'm pretty much a straight shooter and will tell you what's up -- in a kind way if that's how you treat me.

Meeting first as friends instead of calling it an actual date might help keep the pressure off. We could hang out somewhere, go for a walk, whatever we decide. Something that is fun and doesn't feel like an interview. Perhaps dinner at a small restaurant--not a large chain or noisy place--but somewhere where the food is magnificent and the atmosphere is more quiet and laid-back. It could be a Thai restaurant, Chinese, French, steak house, or whatever, as long as the conversation can be held without shouting at each other across the table. Talking and laughing over a glass of wine would be fantastic.
