Hi there - for the sake of accuracy, someone other than the "profilee" else should probably write these things, but I'll give it a try!

People are often curious about one's job, so I should start off by saying I have an appropriately difficult to explain, but interesting and challenging, job working for government. Basically, I'm involved in policy development, i.e. laying out options relating to possible initiatives the government may wish to undertake. I think its almost like getting paid to go to school / take a degree in applied political science.

Although I am passionate about following current affairs, however, I promise not to bore you with the details of my work! There's a lot more to life than work...in terms of some of things I do for pleasure:

-I love all sorts of music, from opera to blues to jazz to reggae to hip hop...I'm always searching out great music I haven't been exposed to previously, and would love to see more live music than I do currently.

-I'm addicted to reading newspapers.

-I love finding out about cool tv series - I don't have a TV (well, I have a set and a dvd player, but no cable) among the series I've enjoyed recently are Rome; 6 Feet Under; The Wire; 30 Rock; Arrested Development; Sopranos

-I like watching movies in old theatres like the Fox on Queen E

-I do yoga a couple a times a week

-I like hanging out in pubs and talking to the regulars or just reading a book

-I enjoy challenging games such as chess, GO, and bridge

-I'd like to take French classes (I took French through high-school, and it can't be that difficult to revive that latent knowledge!)
