My turnoffs are mean, selfish people and weapons of mass destruction.

I'm a divorced 47 year old male, live with my beagle and sometimes with my 17 year old son (who lives most of the time with his mother.)

Physically, I'm 5'9", average build, with blond hair and blue eyes. I'm an educator and think I'm (perhaps) a good conversationalist. I'm somewhat shy and cerebral, though I am getting better at not over analyzing life. I like many types of music, especially in live performance (but not musical showtunes, country or hip hop.) I would like to meet a unique, unconventional woman, someone who has chosen to take the road less traveled and spends time pondering life's big questions. I'm not a materialistic person; I don't think the purpose of our lives is to maximize how much money we earn and spend.

I enjoy many outdoor activities like tent camping, backpacking, bicycling, tennis and travel to places off the beaten track (especially in Latin America.) I also enjoy reading and belong to a book club (we recently read Paradise Lost to honor the 400th anniversary of Milton's birth (oh why did he make Satan the central, most compelling character?)) Oh yeah, I also like trains.
