Ever heard the saying, “It's not the destination, it's the journey”?

That pretty much describes my view on life, or at least my how I look at things on a good day.

You see I figure that if I'm not having a good time getting to know someone then either I haven't gotten enough sleep, I need to build a bridge and “get over” whatever monkey I've got on my back (that's a metaphor, no monkeys at my place), or... you guessed it, it's the other person. Now if things go well, I know that that doesn't mean we'll necessarily turn out to be “the one” for each other, but there's no reason not to enrich each others lives while we figure that out. Don't you agree.? I just like nice, warm, friendly, and courteous people and work hard to be that kind of person to others.

Other useful things to know about me. I work full-time, just about, and go to school at night. I wish I could say that I love my job, I use to, but know it's more work and less fun. Graduate school is a totally amazing experience and I love what I'm learning, if not the papers I have to write. I'm a nerd at heart and like nerdy things (museums, lectures on just about anything), but I also love not so nerdy things like live theater – especially small productions. I'm really not into watching sports at all. I keep very fit (I use be a fitness instructor). I try to be very direct, yet diplomatic, about how I feel and what I want from the people in my life. There's more, of curse, but I sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed when I see a long profile so I thought I'd keep mine short and sweet.

Talk on the phone to get to a first date. Where ever it is I want to make sure we don't have to yell to hear each other. :)
