I am seeking some one who is interested in companionship and hanging out. Basically, I am looking for a drinking/dining and walking exploring buddy.I will be relocating to South Korea by spring 2010.
I am a gentleman first and foremost that is why I am being honest from the start. I have always been a History/Poly-Sci Geek; I am constantly studying it in the form of books, film and on line. I also like to cook so if you are brave, I do not mind cooking every now and then. I must admit, I am not your typical beer drinking sports watching kind of guy. Even though occasionally, I may get together with my male friends to watch a game. However, if it comes down to watching a film or a sports event the film will almost likely win all the time. Politically, I consider myself a “Progressive Democrat” - very liberal and open minded. A few people have considered me to be a radical I don't know why? Maybe because they watch fox news!!!!! However, looking at me you would never think of me being that way.

In my attempts to become more socially conscience, I have chosen to make a few sacrifices in my life. One thing I have done was to scale back my life. I have done the so-called “American Dream” (really a fairytale) thing. When I was married and I found it to be over rated, so if you have dreams of the house in the suburbs I am probably not the guy for you. I always said am most likely going to be a life long New Yorker, if I do leave New York, it will most likely be to another country so I am heading off to Korea!!! I do drive, however it is usually when it is worth my while, such as driving out of the city .Yes I can be a shop-a-holic, even though I strive to be socially conscience, I do like to live well. I love my cognac, cigars and red meat. I just do not want gas and chemicals in them. I do not support evil empires like WALMART, STARBUCKS and MOST RESTAURANT CHAINS!!!!! It’s a huge reason why I left suburbia. In short, I am living more like a European - reading more, listening to more Jazz and drinking more wine or now a Expat!!!!.

If you are open to this, by all means, please respond. I am looking for someone who is not into drama but just wants to have fun and live life to the fullest. In my past, I have been accused of being laid back or non-combative, this is not to be confused with being weak or lacking passion. The reality is I fight to maintain harmony and balance in my life. In short, I pick the battles that mean the most to me. Sun Tsu, the Chinese Philosopher/General once said, "Only fight the battles you can win or you are determined to win regardless of the cost." I live according to that rule. I truly believe that the road to happiness is doing something you love all the time. I love witnessing that passion in everyday life, especially from the people in my life. I just completed a book. It is currently being edited and hopefully published. As for the rest, you are going to have to find out for yourself. The door is open. All you have to do is walk-through.

I hope this list does not make me appear as being shallow, materialistic or too metro-sexual because I am not. There are things that I enjoy in life which I am willing to work for regardless. You only go around in life once and I believe in the little things that makes life more pleasurable What I am seeking is a partner who wants to work together in order to enjoy life and can appreciate much of the aforementioned things and not prejudge plus I am to old to change.
