I'm a professional writer and have lived a few careers from boarding school teacher to talk show host (actually, these weren't all that different...). Creativity is my lifeblood - sparks from clever conversation with witty women warm my heart. Sorry - not much of a sports fan or TV watcher (ironically, I write about TV and TV sports, but more from a communications tech angle). I am a big movie fan - the Paramount Summer Series is a big fave. Film Noir, romantic comedies and the like from the 30's and 40's are key (Preston Sturges is THE master)- adds to an appreciation of contemporary classics (like "Slumdog Millionaire").

I'm easy going and curious, happy to take the lead in exploring unknown cultural events or outdoor experiences - museums in town or trips to the Hill Country. Or, I do just as well going along for the ride. Any suggestions?

Outside of my work, I'm committed to meditation and yoga practices. I'm pretty much the embodiment of the "spiritual, not religious" type. I'm not too picky about where others find their Spiritual Center - as long as they are on the path. If you find your life centered around watching "Desperate Housewives," we're an unlikely match. However, I do get into seeing some of the HBO "novellas" on DVD - wild about "The Wire" - have gone through a "Law & Order" mania, too.

Music - I'm into the Saxon Pub, seeing locals songwriters try out new material. Personal tastes run from 60's and 70's (Steely Dan, etc) to Slaid Cleaves. KUT is the BEST.

I'm really focused on understanding how things work, and am fascinated by most anything. At heart, I'm a storyteller and love listening to things that give me insight into character, personality...and the ultimate absurdity of it all. I'm amazed that the MORE serious I get, the funnier it is....I'm a serious comic.

Something informal, like coffee & conversation or a walk around Town Lake. If we trade a few tales, share a few laughs, that's a good sign.
