One of the definitions I found for a romantic is, "a romantic is a soulful or amorous idealist." I think that definition really describes who I am. I'm easy going, compassionate, creative and intelligent. I am far from perfect but I do try to be the best person I can be.
I am definitely a dreamer and keep a list of all the things I hope to see, do or accomplish during my lifetime. I have a variety of things from starting my own company, to learning the guitar. In regards to romance I have a few on my list but there is one that stands out. It may sound kind of silly but I have always had this dream of kissing the love of my life on the Eiffel Tower. I just have this vision in my mind of Paris at night and kissing the one that I love with the Eiffel Tower in the background. For some reason I just find that so romantic.
As unusual as this may sound for a guy, I really enjoy romance. Romance doesn't have to be as extravagant as kissing in front of the Eiffel Tower but as simple as;
* Picking up her favorite chocolate bar while at the store
* Taking her car in for service on a Saturday morning and bringing back breakfast
* Having a warm towel out of the dryer ready for her when she finishes her bath
It's those little things that add up to a lifetime full of memories with someone. I am a romantic but can be stingy with the key to the gates to my heart. I like like to start off as friends first and take time to get to know someone. It's amazing what you can learn about a person over a period of time and in different settings.
A little bit about myself. I was born in Mississippi, grew up in Southern California and currently reside in Michigan. I have a job that I truly love and fortunate to have a supportive family and good close friends. I'm just missing that gal to make it all complete. Aside from the usual activities such as going out to dinner, movies, etc; I enjoy going to concerts, some of my favorites kinds of music include music from the 80's, Classical, Sarah McLachlan, Coldplay and Taylor Swift. This past summer I saw Green Day and Beyonce both at the Palace. I do enjoy live performances such as concerts but also have a fondness for plays.
Being a guy I naturally LOVE sports. I follow football and basketball mostly. I try to stay physically fit through a variety of activities and going to the gym. Going to the gym is my personal time. I like to think and reflect while I workout. I will put on my headphones and go into my own world. After all the sweat and grime I do clean up well.
I am a homebody at heart, a quiet evening talking about the day, watching tv together or just snuggling under the glow of candlelight would be just as nice in my book.
Regardless of what you do it's the person that makes it special.
When meeting someone for the first time I typically like settings that are casual and relaxed where you have a chance to talk. I try to make my dating activities relaxed, fun and engaging. It's all about learning about each other and hopefully having a nice time while doing it.
