Hello,

I'm a single mama to an amazing 3 year old son. I've never driven and have no idea how to drive, (the idea of driving scares me). I'm covered in tattoos and freckles, and have long red hair, green eyes and glasses. I collect fabric and yarn like some little old ladies collect teaspoons from tourist traps. I moved back to BC from Ontario recently, (2 years ago is still recent after 12 years in Toronto, right? I miss civilization, I miss my local yarn shop), and am finding this a rather unfriendly little town to meet people in. Maybe it's the tattoos?

I love to read and create, I usually have half a dozen books and projects on the go at any given time, and they all get done eventually. I'm currently working on an army of evil sock monkeys, a fancy new nightie, (provided you think red gingham with ants is fancy, I do), repairing two quilts my great gramma Violet made in the 30's, and a sweater with ridiculously tiny stitches for myself. At the moment I'm reading The New York public library writer's guide to style and usage, Watership Down, The history and techniques of Orenburg lace shawls, The annotated Charles D_ckens, (this site won't let me write the name of one of the greatest writers without turning it into a bunch of little stars!), The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy and a Richard Brautigan book or two. Maybe that gives you an idea of where my head is currently at? (then again, maybe it doesn't)

I've recently started canning jams, fruit, and pickles. I'm in love. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to store bought jam after that first slice of toast with blueberry marmalade. (just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I put it on my homemade bread, yum).

I'm not really sure what to write for this little description. 'Sum yourself up in a few words in this little box' was never something I was good at. Oh well, I can always edit.
