About Me
Hello Dallas Metroplex Gentlemen! I am taking myself 'out of the pond' for now (Effective Mar 09) but I'll be baaaaaaaaaaaaaack. I have very much appreciated getting to meet a few of you and getting to know several more via email correspondence. I wish you the very best in your life pursuits and immeasurable happiness in matters of the heart! And remember: "Life may not be the party we had hoped for but while we're here we should dance!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In a nutshell: I'm an honest, open, people-loving lady who would love to find a sincere, compassionate, romantic, fun-loving man to share the joys of life.
I've been in Texas 30 years but am originally from southern California (never was a blonde tho). I have come to think of Dallas as my home but still have family and friends in CA so go visit often as I can.
I have one son and 3 gorgeous (OK, I'm prejudice!) grandaughters who I enjoy but the company of a wonderful man is lacking in my life. Are you that man? I hope so!!!
I am very much an extrovert and like people until they give me a reason not to. I love the simple things in life: being with friends and family, sitting in the sun (not to tan .... just to soak up the energy), being any place that includes a beach and the ocean ....I absolutely love the sound of the ocean hitting the beach, cooking dinner for someone special (is that you?), building birdhouses (a new passion), sitting next to a terrific man (is that you?)on the sofa reading a book, watching a movie at home or at the theater with that someone special (is that you?)or taking a trip to somewhere exciting ... we'd have to create the excitement of course .... by plane, cruise ship or car with a great guy (is that you?) I like all kinds of music, well, except opera and am willing to embarrass myself on the dance floor if you are willing to lead!!
I don't smoke and am not interested in anyone who does. I enjoy Margaritas, martinis, beer, wine and champagne and really love trying new drink recipes at home!! My goodness, that sounds like all I do is drink .... I don't .... really! My favorite food is anything Mexican but I like just about everything! I'm a pretty good cook so love to eat at home ... my cooking or yours ....and also enjoy trying area restaurants from Spring Creek BBQ to the French Room at the Adolphus and everything in between.
I like to travel and especially love cruising (ocean liners or river ships). It's great to only unpack once and yet get to visit lots of cities!
I enjoy playing games (for two or more) but am definitely not interested in someone who is a Player. Just not for me!! What's the saying? Been There, Done That! Got That T-shirt!
I am crazy about all animals but especially dogs. I don't currently have a pet other than two stray cats who have 'adopted' me. I feed them but they don't come in the house .... I'm allergic!! .... but I have a warm, dry place in my garage for them to sleep in the winter.
I'm not much of an outdoorsey person ... camping is not for me. I'm also not a big sports fan (I know, how do I expect to ever meet a man!!) but I can do ice hockey, baseball or football if it is in person (rather than on TV). If the "man of my dreams' turns out to be a sports lover, I don't see it as being a stumbling block for a good relationship ... gosh, I may have a hobby that he doesn't care for! And, I think some time away from each other is important in any relationship.
So, there you have it! That's me. Now, what about you?
One of my favorite quotes: Life is short: break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never forget anything that made you smile.
I found two other quotes I like (author unknown): If you see someone without a smile today give them one of yours! Live simply. Love seriously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
And one more: Kindness is what deaf people hear and blind people see. Mark Twain
First Date
Gosh, what to do on the first date??? Let's see now .... it has to be something that allows us to get to know each other. How about dinner (or lunch) at a quiet restaurant that affords us the opportunity to talk and relax?? I'd be interested in the place you would choose! A picnic would be fun if it's not too hot and muggy or too cold! I guess that leaves the 2 days of Spring and the 2 days of Fall here in Dallas!!! Prior to a 'first date' many years ago, I had mentioned to him that I was trying to put up a picture by hammering in the nail with my shoe due I didn't have a hammer. When he picked me up that night, he had a bouquet of flowers for my babysitter and a 'new hammer' for me. I was really impressed cuz obviously he listened which, for me, was really romantic! Who would have thought a hammer could be romantic. And yes, I do love ROMANCE!
